i fully admit I have a problem
why khy’s eyepatch placement is inconsistent
i mirror my art while im drawing so much that i forget which direction it was in when i started. and then i upload an image and realize that khy’s eyepatch is on the wrong eye. this happens to me *constantly.* im sorry
his bad eye is supposed to be his left one
I got a lot of new followers so I wanted to make a quick introduction with my OC, Kai. I never expected my fanart would be so well received, so I’m very grateful for the support and for your interest in my art. Thank you, everyone! My name is Aeo. You can find more about me on my website: https://aeo.carrd.co/. I’m mostly working on an original webcomic, but if you’re following me for MHA fanart, I will keep drawing MHA fanart! (And if you’re following me for original work, dont worry, I am also going to keep drawing that, too.)
I am striving to continue improving my art and making better things. I will keep pushing myself to become a better artist and make quality content, be it original or fan work. I don't want to disappoint anyone and I'll do my best to keep providing the content that you want to see.
I’m sorry my blog has rapidly turned into an All Might blog I just really love him
its very rare for a fictional character to really hit all the things I love. I’ve told some of my friends this but it’s basically like this character was made for me
omg are the cupcakes inspired from that video on twit of christopher sabat being a menace to the funimation office for AM's birthday?
Yes, it absolutely is XD but I decided to take a sweeter approach to it LOL(for those who haven’t seen it, the video in question: https://twitter.com/FUNimation/status/1138188218623582209 it’s All Might’s English VA tormenting Funimation employees and its adorable. XD)Originally I was going to draw another panel of the cupcake drawing, with someone asking, “oh, thanks, All Might! By the way, how old are you today?”and then he just coughs blood all over the cupcakesbut it was too much to draw and i didn’t want to miss his birthday! I had a busy day today and didn’t have time to draw very long ;~;
hi I’m here with some opinions about Digimon today
this?
i LOVE this. colorful, lively, instantly recognizable characters with strong silhouettes
This... if you showed me this i would not be able to tell they were the same characters.
IMO they all look exactly the same. even their faces are the same.
and that is why I have not yet seen past episode 6 of Tri. I just... every time I watch it I just find myself wishing it was the original Adventure. :(
here’s the thing about character design: it doesn’t matter what style you’re working with, you just have to make your silhouettes strong. anime style tends to use very similar body/face structures to make animation easier, but you can STILL work with similar ‘base’ models as long as you dress them up in ways that are recognizable. I get that it’s more “realistic” or whatever for these kids to be in school uniforms or something but it completely leeches the life and energy that made the original Digimon Adventure character designs unique. so if your cast of characters are all in school uniforms that’s when you need to spend extra time giving them unique body types and/or extremely different facial features so you can give them recognizable silhouettes.
me: where’s that drawing i made in 2016 that i never finished that i thought looked kinda cool? im sure its around here somewhere

I am caught up with steven universe finally and watched the ending and I thought I’d share my thoughts. Obviously, spoilers below!
I loved the ending and I thought it was perfect for what the point of the series was. I think if it ended any other way, it wouldn’t be Steven Universe. From my limited understanding, it seems some of the fandom felt that the ending was anticlimactic or that it was ‘too easy’ to change the minds of the 3 diamond tyrants. I don’t tend to read discourse so I don’t really know fully how or why people feel the way they do, but I have my own feelings about it so I’ll share it here. At it’s core, SU is a children’s TV show that is trying to tell very simple moral stories through complex metaphors. It is a story about navigating complicated interpersonal relationships. It is not a story about the effects of war on society, or a tyrannical and utilitarian government, or of the abuse of people within the flawed system. Stories like that exist, and they are important, but I don’t think that is what SU has ever been about. It is about educating children about how to gracefully navigate life in a world where everyone is so different from one another. It’s about how to work through ordinary conflicts while using an extraordinary, fantasy coat of paint. There are times when selflessness and self-sacrifice is important. There are times when protecting yourself and putting up boundaries are important. There are times when you have to stand up for what you believe in, even in the face of harsh opposition. It’s about having confidence in yourself, it’s about being gracious and forgiving with the flaws of others, and, most of all, that love ultimately overcomes hatred. Steven never seeks to solve conflicts with violence. If he solved conflicts with violence in the ending of the show, I think it would have ruined the message. YES, in the real world, some people cannot be changed, and no amount of love or self-sacrifice will save them. But Steven Universe isn’t not a story ABOUT how some people can’t be saved. It wants children to feel good about growing up. It wants to deal with heavy, horrible things with a soft hand. It wants to lead into good, happy endings. I’m glad it got its good, happy ending. I’m glad it had its musical numbers. I’m glad it got its cheesy montage where everyone got saved in the end. I’m glad the Diamonds changed, and I’m glad they changed swiftly. I want kids to feel good about growing up and knowing that, even if the world can be scary and horrible, it doesn’t have to stay that way.
