hooome home on the raaange // akina
The first thing that Yui noticed here was the scent. This kitchen, this whole apartment, fine cuisine hadn't been wafting in the air long after it had been prepared. Roast duck, carbonara, lobster bisque, things like that. Food she would have never been able to afford. She had lived in a fine house once upon a time and as such she chose to remember, solely, the lavish smells that permeated in the choke hold atmosphere. Yui opted to not remind herself of the lingering stench of heavy metals and tears. Her new home had none of these things, the luxury and the horror. Was relief supposed to feel so heavy?
Perhaps not...but it could've been reasonable, right? Sure, she didn't ask to come here -- that seemed to be a pattern in her life -- but being here wasn't certainly better than being there. Yui, now ruminating over the single double bed in this room, again decided to silence her doubts; she was here, not there. Things were different now. Better.
...But the sleeping situation. That definitely needed to be sorted out. She back stepped out of the room, letting the door shut behind her as she fixed her eyes on the person who was now dubbed her husband. This and that weren't similar, of course, but it was getting a little tiresome that she was always someone's bride. On the same token, perhaps this was weird for him too? She really hoped so, anyway.
"Akina-san? We need to talk about the...er -- " The girl pinched the bridge of her nose, and jabbed her thumb back toward the bedroom door as her words left her for a moment. Then the light bulbs in her brain illuminate once more and she snaps her fingers. "The sleeping arrangement! Yes, yes...that. I-If that's okay?"
