[[ Wizards of the Coast has unveiled the first project they’ve released with Tuque Games: A Dark Alliance reboot. From the official website:

Join up to 4 friends, online or on the couch, and battle iconic monsters from Dungeons & Dragons in a new co-op action RPG.

In both the trailer and on the game’s website, the “4 friends” are represented by the Companions of the Hall less Regis, with the frost giant Harshnag in the background as presumably the Big Bad.

The game looks to be a hack and slash with little storytelling/lore elements. Judging by Catti-brie being an archer, the game seems likely to be anachronistic to the current D&D 5th edition setting of circa 1492 DR.

Update: The game is set in the 2e era, right after The Crystal Shard chronologically.

Personally, despite being a Forgotten Realms product, this game holds little draw for me. Hopefully Artemis will be a secret unlockable character like he was in the original Dark Alliance. ]]
