Looking back, she would have scolded herself for such reckless behavior. She was still so young... young and naive and irrational. What did she think would come of such a poorly-thought out plan? Did she imagine that she would waltz right into Angband, rescue her brother, and manage to leave freely without getting caught?
Foolish. She was foolish.
She had been caught just as she reached the dungeons, a guard managing to sound the alarm before Laurelin ended his miserable life with a swift blade across his throat. Guards rushed to the dungeons as she attempted to make her getaway and though she fought, she was soon overwhelmed and defeated.
Still breathing heavily from the fight, covered in blood and sweat, she looked up from where the orcs had forced her to her knees.
Morgoth stood before her.
"I am no coward," she spat at the Vala, refusing to shrink away from him. "I do not fear you, Morgoth."
