These Grilled Texas Turkey Burgers are a tasty and better for you alternative to regular beef burgers. They're great for a backyard barbecue or a weeknight dinner because they're full of flavor from the BBQ sauce, chili powder, and cheddar cheese.
Ingredients: 1 lb ground turkey. 1/4 cup breadcrumbs. 1/4 cup diced onion. 1/4 cup diced bell pepper. 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese. 1/4 cup BBQ sauce. 1 tsp chili powder. 1/2 tsp garlic powder. Salt and pepper to taste. 4 hamburger buns. Lettuce, tomato, and pickles for toppings.
Instructions: Put breadcrumbs, diced onion, diced bell pepper, shredded cheddar cheese, BBQ sauce, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix the ingredients together. Split the mixture in half and shape each half into a burger patty. Set your grill to medium-high heat and oil the grate so that food doesn't stick. For about 5 to 6 minutes on each side, or until they reach 165F 74C inside and are no longer pink in the middle, grill the turkey burger patties. Put the hamburger buns on the grill and toast them for one minute, or until they get a little brown. Place lettuce, tomato, and pickles on the bottom bun of your burgers. Then add the grilled turkey patty and the top bun on top of that. Serve hot with the sides and sauces you like.
