What is your favorite thing about your muse, and why? What is an underrated fact or headcanon you have that no one knows/hasn't seen yet?

my favorite thing may simply be that she's a no-nonsense, your run-of-the-mill warrior. straight-laced, straight-faced, straightfoward. her bullshit detector is on 24/7, and takes every promise to aid with a grain of salt, depending on the faction where one hails from. another favorite is that she is nevarran. i'm a predictable fella; knights and death are my favorite themes of a character. and her using archaic forms of trader's tongue is my way of saying i like the romanticized version of the medieval / renaissance era. a headcanon i have, though canon at this point, ymir has a crush on irin, the mourn watcher ymir was ordered to act as her bodyguard. and that because of said crush, ymir adopted irin's archaic language, and includes that into her everyday vocabulary. this is how i explain ymir, a 38 year old in current day dragon age timeline, speaks so eloquently.

Does your muse love to flirt? What are some subtle signs they are flirting? What is your muse’s best pick up line?

thinking about this &. i'll include an excerpt of a particular post where i briefly mentioned the topic of flirting;

ymir would never openly flirt with anybody. let alone hand out compliments freely, nor leave a modicum of interest for the other to discern from. she has a reputation to uphold, and she would not want to burden the mantle on the shoulders unto another. so one would presume ymir possesses no romantic yearning, that the other veilguard members assume the bulwark holds her duties above courtship. for ymir to sing you praise is her acknowledging you on a personal level. what she says, she means, and it is with intent.

so it's not that ymir loves to flirt because she does not. there is no purpose to entice one's heartstrings when your sole objective is to either live to fight or die fighting. hypothetically if she is flirting with your muse, it's not obvious. it is, in fact, subtle. those cues feature wordplay, longing gazes; admiration from afar.

additionally, once you have romanced ymir, her general expression of adoration is physically articulated. when out of sight, she will hold your muse, and only let them go when they order her to. words only carry partial weight of the insurmountable love she bears for your muse. verbal expressions never feel enough to her, despite the fact she treats oaths and swearing of fealty as gospel & law. stuff to uphold. i guess if she did elect to use a pick-up line, it would be suave term of phrase. again, wordplay is what she uses, not as much as her flail, but it's her fancy.

What does love mean to your muse? How do they show their love, or what love languages best describe them?

Gonna be real, love hasn't been on her mind much. She's always been too busy-- a warrior, helping her fellow dalish, spending a lot of time in minrathous, being with the veil jumpers... she's not really had time to sit and think about love. it's something she figures will just smack her in the face on day.

when she is with someone and they're established, raena comes out of her shell and is very affectionate. maybe not so much with words because words are hard but definitely with touch. nuzzling and affectionate nibbling and kisses and touches-- one of her love languages is most definitely touch, the other quality time. she just!!! she needs to be near that person and tbh be ON them.

Love for Cassandra will always mean home. That the feeling with someone is that she is home. Even if they are thousands of miles away from their house, that spending time together or even a simple hug feels like home and where she always wants to return to, and that it will always be there.

She shows her love through physical touch. Hand on back or knee, holding hands, snuggling, lap sitting, sex. While she does do other things like finding things they may like, bringing their food, etc, her main way in physical touch.

So I guess the last question I answered above.

raena is absolute dogshit at flirting. it doesn't come naturally to her at all and her way of flirting is probably just bluntly blurting out that she thinks someone is hot and then running off embarrassed. even if she manages to pick up on the fact someone else is flirting with her, she's likely to clam up and get very flustered and maybe dip out of the situation because she's not sure how else to deal with it. so with that said i don't think she has a go-to best pick up line because she probably doesn't know any... maybe her best attempts to flirt would actually be just being comfortable enough to compliment that person, to be able to be honest and open about how she feels about them and Try not to get too flustered by it.

i imagine like the rest of this-- if she's interested in someone, she's not as subtle about it as she thinks she is. others probably pick up easily that she's interested in someone, probably just by the longing stares from a distance, the easy way she blushes around them-- or even just her desire to be near that person more. depending on their dynamic, she may get more touchy-feely too.

evelyn  is  sort  of  an  unwitting  flirt.  she's  naturally  very  complimentary,  and  effusive  with  verbal  praise  to  the  point  that  some  may  take  that  as  flirtatious  when  she  doesn't  have  any  ulterior  motives.  stuff  like  “you  look  radiant  today!”  or  “your  skill  with  magic  is  extraordinary  –  it's  like  art!”  especially  with  the  words  she  tends  to  use  (  inventive,  poetic  almost.  she  has  the  vocabulary  of  someone  who  reads  a  lot  of  books  –  especially  old  books.  ) 

she's  never  learned  how  to  flirt,  or  even  how  to  express  romantic  affection.  so  many  of  her  romantic  pursuits  started  as  platonic  that  slid  too  deeply  into  devotion  that  the  lines  have  blurred.  out  of  the  context  of  her  “job”  she's  quite  easy  to  fluster,  especially  if  someone  she  finds  to  be  attractive  chooses  to  be  flirtatious  in  her  stead.

subtle  signs  that  she  likes  someone  would  definitely  be  lingering  glances  (  very  wistful,  definitely  daydreaming  ).  blushing,  finding  excuses  to  just  be  near  that  person  (  parallel  play,  like  why  do  you  need  to  be  in  the  barn  writing  war  missives???  ).  gift-giving,  as  well.  moreso  than  with  her  platonic  friends.  usually  with  a  thoughtful  note  attached.

as  for  pickup  lines,  i  think  she'd  unironically  do  the  “wow,  your  hands  are  so  big”  thing.

She doesn't realize she flirts. She likes to tease and joke, and sometimes it can come out a bit more on the flirty side of everything. While her more subtle signs of flirting is going to be like asking to spend time and taking an interest in their hobbies.

Her favorite pick-up line: Are you a necromancer? Because you've revived the butterflies in the stomach.

Accidentally loaded question time! yaaaaay!

So this ties actually into a headcanon that I have been slowly working on about Laika and her personas used in infiltration / for the Shadow Dragons and Red Jennies. Laika is good at inhabiting roles, and one of them is the dashing rogue. Seduction is as much a weapon in her kit as her knives and bombs. People tell things to pretty girls that they would never say to their most trusted confidants. How do you figure, sweet talker, indeed.

But Laika also likes to flirt; there's a thrill to meeting tit for tat in witty banter. The push and pull between the parties. And yes, she does like the attention, she's not going to deny that. But there's almost a conflict of interest there. She's never quite sure where benign flirting ends and seduction-as-weapon begins. For one night stands or situationships, this isn't really an issue, but for people she has genuine affection for? Well, in a world of target and marks, a crush friend is the hardest line to draw.

As for subtlety, she has none. If Laika is flirting, it's usually with the intention of spending some “ quality time ” with them later; again, see love being terrifying. So, she can sound a little brazen; comments about hands and, um, assets are not uncommon. But, of course, there's an asterisk: Once the feelings enter the frame, Laika loses all nerve; bites, and trips over her tongue.

Her best pick up lines are tailored for the recipient, showing off her observant nature. A musician might be teased about their playing skills or dexterous fingers, for instance.
