Alison sat at the dining room table, trying to distract herself until Donnie got home from work by folding laundry. A few minutes into folding, barely making a dent in the laundry basket, she heard the familiar sound of her husband’s car. Hurrying to fold a few more articles of clothing she looked up as Donnie walked into the dining room. A strong wave of anxiousness hit her all at once upon seeing him. “Can we talk?” Well, that wasn’t how she planned to start this conversation and it certainly came out more abrupt than she expected. Too late now.
