(This post has been shortened for Instagram- full sentiments are on my Facebook page) Well 2021, I set out on you with a positive attitude- this was going to be my year! I performed my music on SPIN magazine, I directed 4 music videos (one of which broke 100k views on YouTube), cut two major cartoon tv shows (Duncanville and the Prince), cut a powerful short doc about teen mental health during the pandemic, started homeschooling my 8 year old daughter, and released a single and an EP of what I feel is my best work ever called “3 Lives”. It wasn’t easy. I had a serious burnout, which is a first for me. But coming out on the other side of that has me grounded in a new way, and for the first time I feel a true positivity rather than a forced one. The biggest change that helped this realization, was simply turning off the screens in my life. So I hope you’ll join me this year in effectively quitting the internet and instead going out for a coffee, or to the park, or literally anything in the real world so that we can catch up in person. I miss you good people, your faces, your real lives- I don’t want to passively sit and read about your thoughts on a screen any longer, I don’t want to hear your voice processed through a speaker… I want to hear the physical wavelengths of your beautiful voices bounce through the atmosphere and directly into my ears. I want to experience your energy and share mine. You are beautiful and so is life. #annualnewyearpost #killyourtv #turnoffthescreen #unitedwestand #thetruthwillsetyoufree #donotcomply #standyourground #liveyourtruth #thenewsisfake #femalesinger #femaleartist #queerartist #punkaf #beyourownauthority #darkpop #industrialpop #heavypop #gothpop #valkyrievoices #femalesingers #vikingvoices #nugoth #electrogoth #femaleartists #newdiymusic Photo by @bryanbeasleyphoto (at Los Angeles, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/CYJ-f6EFdFg/?utm_medium=tumblr
