Even more turtles! These are, once again, FDG turtles printed at 50% with FDG Goblin mine carts and crewed by Reaperminis Goblin achers. These two count as troop transports or supply haulers. Schildkrote schleppers? Just the big one left now. 😀

Magic Turtle Wagon in progress

Tiny progress everywhere, I'm finding the highlights that I like for all the different pieces of the turtle Fleet and I'm getting closer to working on the crew. The crew will be made up of these Reaper goblins, most of which are in Bones plastic but I do have this one metal shaman who looks suitably excited to be commanding a fleet of giant desert turtles.

I finished the artillery section of my goblin turtle fleet; the turtles are from Fat Dragon Games and are printed at 50%, the ballista cart is also a FDG print, the goblin crew are from Reaper Minis. That's half of the fleet done so far.

At last! The big guy is finished; FDG Turtle at 100%, part of the FDG Goblin throne on top, and some Reaperminis Goblins who think they're in charge. As soon as I saw this model after I printed it I thought of the 1995 Grendel Miniatures game of Leviathan. If I remember correctly it is a mass battle game where each army has to have some huge centerpiece monster that the rest of the army forms around. Which is why I made a fleet of support turtles to go with the great turtle.

This is actually part of the goblin Turtle Fleet project, no really! I was trying to find the right sort of blue for the Goblin uniforms, in my desert garb research I found some pictures of bedouins in a really interesting blue color and I was trying to replicate that color for the Goblin clothing. Before I start slapping it on a lot of little models I wanted to see what it looked like so I tried it out on the Skeleton on the right. It looks mostly right, a little bright, but it's always easier to make things darker than it is to make them lighter. The pile of bones is there because it just needed a little bit of highlighting and it needed it's base finished.

Last of my Reaperminis Goblins, painted in the same colors as the crew of the Turtles fleet. Sort of a naval detachment or Goblin Marines.

Good to finally finish the whole Goblin Turtle fleet project. 🙂
