When you go to set up the new filter and spot things that weren't there before in the tank 🤯

Flo, my family's turtle, laid eggs for the very first time (we've had her for about 10 years). Turns out when healthy female turtles are adults, they can lay unfertilized eggs (usually in the spring, but I guess she decided the middle of summer is actually the best time to do it). I'm my family's resident reptile expert but up until now, I only have had experience with identifying turtles, fertile eggs, and raising babies, juveniles, and adult male turtles.

These are busy turtles, contrary to what the moss on their backs might indicate.
