I finally got to see Promare. I need to collect my thoughts before I go into detail about my opinions. There were some issues with the plot imo but overall it was good. Hiroyuki Sawano is an excellent composer. Trigger knows how to animate action scenes & make distinct characters both visually & in personality. Good movie.
I finished watching the last Godzilla anime film, Planet Eater. I think I read somewhere that it was initially planned to be a 12 episode anime rather than a film trilogy. That makes sense. I have some issues with how things were handled in Planet Eater. Oof. I liked the characters and the first two movies well enough. Urobuchi wrote all three films. I had a decent idea of what I was getting into lol. I don't understand why the protagonist gets so much hate. He's a Captain Ahab style character, but I never found him unbearable. He's... like a more mature version of Eren Jaeger, I guess? It's kinda hard to articulate why I find Haruo Sakaki likeable. That's a topic for a different post. And explaining my qualms with the last entry of this trilogy is another.

I finished rewatching the entirety of Chowder and moved onto Courage the Cowardly Dog. I remember the latter being rather dark but I'm a bit surprised they were able to include certain elements in a kid's series. (It's easier to notice that when watching several consecutive episodes.) But still. I love the show so much.
I caught up on Bojack Horseman. Started looking through the Anime Network's streaming catalogue. Remembered some people only know about DeSu 2 because of exposure to the poorly written anime. Some people never played the game. Now I'm kinda irritated. The Pokémon anime was and still is essentially marketing for the games. It's quite effective at that. The DeSu 2 anime... I dunno. I feel like even though it's called Devil Survivor 2: The animation, some people are unaware it's based off a magnificent JRPG. That kinda bums me out. I'm dumb and drank too much tea earlier and now I can't sleep. Dammit. I got work tomorrow. Er... today, technically.
I've been watching Bojack Horseman for the past couple days on Netflix. It's really good. It's more substantial than one may expect from an adult animated comedy. That streaming stick was totally worth buying. Of course if I just invested in a game console made after 2007, I wouldn't need a streaming device. Ah well.
