So, after hearing of an…incident…involving Donatello in the comics, I decided to go online and check for reactions and — hopefully — fix-its. Instead, I fell into the world of the TMNT fandom.
I also discovered Tcest, aka, turtle-cest.
I saw arguments both for and against tcest. Against: whether they are biologically related or not, they’re still considered “brothers” and thus it’s still on some level always incest; the popular argument of why pairing up characters just to have slash/yaoi is stupid and bad; …actually, I think the primary argument was the incest and incest is bad, with a touch of omg gay gay gay. (Somewhere, Wincest is laughing its ass off.) For: wtf, they’re fictional characters in fictional works so get over yourselves; they’re socially isolated turtles raised by a mutated RAT; and seriously, they’re fucking turtles.
All right, so we’re this far into it. Let’s go a little farther. Biologically related or not, how much would the “incest” factor matter to them? Given that, again, they’re turtles being raised by a rat, I think the only reason they would give a damn would be based on what they learned through social media about incest and popular perception of it. I think that otherwise, they really wouldn’t give a damn. Same goes with homosexuality, as turtles and rats are noted to be among the hundreds of species to be seen as displaying homosexual behaviors. Regarding incest, well, people separate pets for a reason. Most don’t give a flying fuck.
So why would they care? Social media is an option, but I don’t think it would really play a big part. The turtles’ knowledge appears to come from Donatello and their social and moral guidance seems to come from Splinter. In human society, a lot of the argument against homosexuality is religious in nature, particularly the Abrahamic religions, so I think we can rule that out. So how about incest? I think it’s safe to say he would not have gained too much information on it when he was around humans, so he would have to base it on the family dynamics itself. As such, I think Splinter would care less about homosexuality and incest and more on how such couplings would affect his kids and the family dynamic.
Splinter cares about honor, integrity, and about the general well-being of his children. At the end of the day, his reaction to tcest will depend on those factors. Is this hurting his kids? Is it affecting their spiritual and mental well-being? I think those factors will far outweigh what society has to say. After all, human society shuns them, anyway, and would experiment on his children if given half a chance. There’s a reason he raised creatures who are meant to be out in the sun (yay vitamin D for shell health!) in the sewers.
So! Now onto the physical portion! I have generously shared pictures of my research to my friends. You’re welcome. (Yes, I did research. Shut up. It was BOTHERING ME.)
If someone is going for non-tcest relations, such as the popular pairing of April/Donatello, I think this would involve some incredibly careful sex or an explanation involving the ooze/mutagen about why his penis isn’t killing her. Go on. Google “turtle penis.” You know you want to. For those not brave enough to try, their dicks are about half the length of their plastron and typically emerge from the cloaca. Beyond the shape, it is similar to a human penis as it starts limp (to fit in the cloaca) and then hardens. Like many human males, they like to whip it out for multiple reasons! Sometimes for dominance, sometimes for boredom. I think Splinter would frown on this, though. Turtles DO NOT HAVE A PROSTATE. That little bit of info was what started me on this information gathering quest in the first place, as that really bugged me. It went downhill from there. Tcest writers: TURTLES DO NOT HAVE A PROSTATE…unless, again, you are making the ooze/mutagen argument. Turtles show sexual acting out behavior prior to maturation but no mating until maturity. Male turtles tend to be smaller than females.
There is also the thought that they have, effectively, created their own society and norms. While Splinter has raised them based on ninja clans, it is stated in all canon medias that they were raised outside of society and many of the normal norms cannot apply to them. It can be argued that this includes the taboo of incest, as what does that mean to an isolated clan of mutated turtles? Many of their practices are not based off popular human western society but based off the clan mentality and also off isolation as protection.
After far too much thought and research, I decided that human/turtle sexual interaction traumatizes me far more than turtle/turtle, but that is mostly due to the possibility of death by turtle dick. Just…wow.
I will probably research more into this, because there is something fascinating about the sexual social norms of such an isolated family.
Raph/Leo :>
How can I say no to that one~?
Part one of the drawings of today livestream :) I will finish them later. Thanks to all who were there!!!!!
DMD sketch xD Practicing more kisses :D hahaha
- Donnie I..! - MIKEEEYYYYY!!!.. SHREDDER! YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS! EVEN IF IS THE LAST THING I DO!
A late DMD valentine. I hope you like it
Donnie and Mikey are my OTP on TMNT, I think they are perfect for each other in any incarnation
of the turtles. In the 2012 serie they need to grow up a little.
I know is a little late for San valentin but... Here you have my 8D Valentine image.
Fun facts: - Mikey head mark is MomoRaw`s one. I love how she made it so I asked her a time ago if I could use it. - Donatello Head mark is by mooncalfe`s Tmnt comic, I really liked it so I use it, but is her creation.
TCEST!!!! and now..... FOOD! COME WITH MAMA!
I have so much work with this :) but here I have the sketches.
I try to draw the turtles more adult in these scenes, more than in my 2012 Style. To show that here they dont have 15 years old.
