Day 3 : #疫情期间～#浪中岛海龟下蛋之旅 龟妈妈找一个合适的地方产卵，当它们相中了某个地方后，就会用前脚飞快地挖坑，接着转过身，将后脚弯曲成勺状，把挖出来的沙土扒到边上，很快一个既深又大的坑就挖好了。之后，海龟妈妈就开始产蛋，一个一个像乒乓球一样的海龟蛋依次在坑里叠起来。产卵完成后，海龟妈妈会再用后脚，细心地用沙土把卵坑盖好，才慢悠悠地回到海里。每个海龟妈妈每年要产卵2～3次，每次至少产60多枚蛋，多的可达100多枚。为什么海龟妈妈要生那么多的蛋呢？ 海龟蛋的孵化时间会长达50～60天。每当下蛋完毕，10天～14天都会回到同一个地方下蛋，但在这漫长的孵化时间里，海龟蛋面临很多的危险。因为它是许多动物的美食，老鹰鸟类、蛇类等都会费尽心机找海龟蛋。海龟蛋要面临多次被洗劫，能顺利孵化的就不多了。 #turtlenesting #summerbayresort #langtengahisland #langtengah @summerbaylti @langtengahscubaadventure (at Summer Bay Resort, Lang Tengah Island, Malaysia) https://www.instagram.com/p/B99Q856Fo1x/?igshid=atcckiziqv1g

Day 6 and I'll be truthful that I really couldn't recall back on what exactly had really happen through the day cause the hyped was during the night!!! After patrols over the precious night, awaken by another volunteer at approximately 3am cause a mother turtle came up!!! Jumped straight up and rushed over to the beach immediately!! . . The red lights are a way to protect the turtle as white light frighten them off. The course of relocating the best took about an hour by transferring the egg from the original nest to Turtle Bay and relocate it for better monitoring and safe guarding. (Pic 2) . . . The remaining days were gone is a haze of memory but I do recall having a good snorkel and finishes off with a nice meal of salted egg chicken with rice. May is the beginning of sea turtle nesting season on many of Florida’s sandy beaches. Beachfront property owners and beach visitors can help nesting turtles and hatchlings by turning off or shielding lights that are visible from the beach at night.
