HARRY UZOKA REMEMBRANCE DAY No matter how much madness is going on in the world or in my personal life, I always look forward to those few days around the 11th of each month when I know I’ll sit for a number of hours at my drawing board and experience the smiles. laughter, self-reflection and inspiration that Harry always brought me… and continues to bring me. This practice accomplishes my main purpose of keeping Harry’s impressive body of work and image circulating through cyberspace, expanding his impact. But I also find that it continues to have a healing and renewing impact on me personally. Harry is literally still giving me what he gave me for those number of years we were blessed to be connected. Thank you, bruv. . This month’s Harry Remembrance TuTchT joint is based on a shot from Harry’s Pull & Bear Star Wars campaign that launched in 2015 in the lead up to the premiere of The Force Awakens. My remembrance portraits tend to be brand-free so the focus remains on Harry himself, but the work is still just a google away. HARRY UZOKA REMEMBRANCE DAY One of my favorite Harry Uzoka rep jobs was when he embodied (& bodied) Pharrell’s G Star Raw demin label. HARRY UZOKA REMEMBRANCE DAY I had planned to share Harry’s 2014 Ashish work today but my work schedule was too packed to do a new portrait. However… my sorely-missed brother’s “muse status” continues to operate full tilt on my soul. Just like from the first day I saw Harry, there’s something gripping about him…eternally gripping; something that speaks directly to the soul of humanity, simultaneously comforting and challenging us. There was always a childlike openness in his face that remains magnetic but at the same time, a fearlessness to take on societal challenges; bringing the axiom “a child shall lead them” to life, even moreso in Harry’s murder. . HAPPY BORNDAY YAHROCK BATES #TB 👑Yah Yah👑 TuTchTjoints for fam’s BornDay Yah Yah has been one of my favs for years, from the day I first saw him at the very beginning of his journey many years ago, back when he was still based in South Carolina, before he was looming over Times Square, before he was signed to half a dozen agencies around the globe, before he became the face of countless top brands & top designers, the most recent of which are @ToddSnyderNY @Champion @Gap, among many others! His skills as a model are obvious and undeniable, but I also gotta point out that even as his following continues to rise above the 5-digit mark, this guy still takes time to stay in touch & respond to my often-random messages. In my experience, this kind of diligent interaction is rare among those with a following of this size. It’s among many of his rare qualities that make him such a gift to the planet. COCOA & COFFEE - HARRY UZOKA FOREVER A scan of Instagram last night revealed to me that of all the post tagged with Harry’s name, about 10 percent of them were posted from my site. I was a champion for his skills from the first day I stumbled on him, and will continue to share his timeless work throughout my life. A boysbygirls.com photoshoot with Harry in late 2011 was a pivotal point for me. This shoot (along with an early video for 125 magazine) really opened my eyes to his potential and the vast wellspring of Truth he was able to tap into. The greatness was apparent. HARRY UZOKA REMEMBRANCE DAY . Each month around the 11th I sit down to create a post to remember my great muse Harry who was senselessly murdered on Jan 11th, 2018. And each month his beautiful spirit seems to be sittin there waiting for me to come take a deep analytical look at how the world has changed since his passing. I loved this brother in life and I’ve grown to love his memory and all he represents to a newer and different level. My monthly hours of commune with Harry is hard to put into words. I thank him for constantly giving back to me personally and to the world. . HELP ME POST on the 11TH OF EACH MONTH! I encourage the many, many people around the globe who were touched by Harry Uzoka to join me on the 11th of each month in posting pics and memories of Harry. He has an extensive body of professional work from his many years in the modeling industry and I’m sure many of his friends and associates have personal pics of Harry too. Post them! Tag them!
