Watching Lost all over again is the best decision I've ever made!
The shape of things to come.
I think I should decide to re-watch one episode of Lost everyday plus make screen caps (I don't know how to make GIF's? I studied media for a year and yet no one told me how to make GIF's, I do like screen caps though!) AND write reviews.
I'm actually excited to scrutinize the details and write things down and categorize it, I'm desperate to make sense of this. I do realize this is going to take me forever, as in; 4-6 months or longer if I keep it steady at one episode-ish per day. I want to be thorough, but I also have a life, school, a job, a couple of dogs, trying to build a social life after moving to a new city, plus being a series addict and wanting to watch new things as well, you get the picture? But one episode a day seems reasonable.
I've already got my tagging system scribbled down. I'll tag things somehow like this-ish;
Season x Episode (1x1) + episode name
The Characters
The ship names / name of pairs
A review tag
A screen cap tag
A GIF tag
Seasons
Bloopers
Behind the scenes
+ the lost tags (lost abc, abc lost, tv: lost, lost tv show, lostie, losties, more good ones?)
Quotes tag?
We'll see. Eventually things will end up in a neat system where you can find information about what you might be looking for, instead of scrolling through page after page after page on a blog, hoping to find whatever. (It'll take me forever to get the links connected to the right pages, good thing I like HTML)
And facts about the characters. Such as who's related to who, dates who, comes from where, goes back in time and kills who, cheated on who, dies when, where, why, who's to blame? Other? Plane crash victim? Dharma member?
Here's an example of something I've scribbled down while trying to explain things to a friend:
Jack Shepard: Christian Shepard's son, In love with Kate, briefly seems to be falling/falls for Juliet. Married to Juliet, they have a son together. Ends up with Kate. Claire Littleton's half brother. Baby Aaron's uncle. (my friend didn't get it, I don't blame her) Of course, that's only the top of the iceberg and things as I remembered as I scribbled it down.
And I really want to make sense of the Purgatory Theory. AND if the purgatory theory is right - what did the characters do to end up there? You don't end up in a purgatory out of the blue. A lot of the characters from the plane had indeed done something bad, but not everyone. This especially bugs me when it comes to Juliet and Penny. How did Juliet end up in Purgatory? What did she do? I've read the hydrogen bomb theory, she set off the bomb and became responsible for the issue with all the pregnant women dying, therefore she ends up there and her job is to figure it out? And in the 70's when she and Sawyer are an item - she saves Horace's baby, did that make her let go? TOO MANY THEORIES. Same with Penny, she's not even on the island - but she's in the church, me = ???
Of course I've read theories online, but I'm not satisfied before it makes sense to me and right now it doesn't. I know you can read "everything" online, but somehow I want to figure it out myself. (stubborn much?) I've never seen anything as confusing as Lost, ever. Even Doctor Who makes more sense, and that's pretty confusing at times too.
I probably sound crazy obsessed by now. Hope anyone gets what I mean?
