So this episode, Hae Soo starts to get in trouble, now this is what we as viewers expect as she is not used to her surroundings. Hae Soo gets in the fight with the youngest prince after catching him peeping on her friend dressing, he refuses to apologize. It is a cute fight almost an older sister to a little brother fight, but the funny part is she wins and ends up giving him a large black eye lol. Weāre learning Hae Soo is this bright girl that kinda causes a little chaos.Ā
What is difficult to watch (in a good way, itās well written and performed) is the scene where So goes to visit his mother (the queen). He expects her to receive him warmly but is surprised. When he enters, the mood of the room changesā¦to a negative one, but we havenāt learned completely why just yet.
After he properly greets his mother she immediately wants to send him to see his adoptive mother, his older brother has nothing but underhanded comments to add to their conversation. I mean jerk style. Which it ends with his mother telling him he doesnāt have to see her any longer, and he pulls out a small smile telling her itās been years since heās visited and I'm thinking 'she is being straight cold to you, how are you smiling?' But he takes her emotional hits, bam bam bam a right hook into the heart.
He even asks to stay in the palace with his family she immediately says So is not a member of the family. Iām thinking he should want to live elsewhere! Run So Run, sheās crazy!Ā
We are shown a mother dynamic here, the mother shows favorites amongst the sons and in a harsh manner where there is no doubt she despises her son, even though So, still seeks, love, acceptance and approval. Well written relations are truly going to propel this show.
The palace prepares for the exorcism rite, a rite to ward of evil spirits in the 12th lunar month (the scene above of the queen dressing has this scary feeling to it, where she is beautiful but powerful in her position and her in viciousness!
Ā At the start of the ritual So takes the crown prince's place in the performance just as he asked in the last episode (So at the left, Crowned Prince at the Right in red).
Ā We as viewers get to see a great performance of music, dance, fire and martial arts for the ritual.
but this performance is interrupted by assassins who attacked the Crowned prince but in truth they are attacking So who took the Crown Prince's place. Itās chaos, the other princes join the chaos and start fighting alongside So (who they think is the Crowned Prince) He does pretty well until his evil plotting brother interferes and the crown prince has to save Soās life. He does it beautifully I might add. I was all āwhoaā and those in the show were all āwhoaā seeing the strength of these two princes. The Assassin's were thinking the same thing and ran for their lives! Ā Iād screen shot, but it is so visually enjoyable you should watch it! The action of the scene is wonderful but once again once the assassinās flee, it is the relationships here as the king is worried about his most precious son until he removes his masks and realizes itās his other son. The King was all āMoo-ah!,ā but then is all āyouāre not the valuable one, hold up a secondā lol. Ā So sees the worry of his father leave him to be directed to his other brother who is the Crowned Prince. Ā
This scene is dope because he was fighting for his life, their lives and heās looked down upon and even though heās so hurtā¦he freaking stands up! He stands the hell up, Iām thinkingā¦youāre kind of scary but straight up bomb ass cool! Go get those assassinās So, go get āem! The crowned prince immediately wants to follow but the King tells him to stay. This is a great moment here as the Crowned Prince cares about So.Ā
Meanwhile adorable Hae soo is out in the city for the festival as well outside the palace.Ā
She spots So and follows him through the city to the forest.
She ends up witnessing the slaughter of the assassins! Thank goodness she followed him into the forest!
Ā So, corners one of the assassinās, and I'm thinking, well done So. And whoa we see the other scary plotting prince standing with the assassinsā¦
Oh and Hae Soo causes trouble again, she kind of saves herself with the help of the princes. All of this leads to more trouble if you watched you know what fun it was! If you didnāt hit up dramafever and check out the second episode.
