People think is only about the shipping but it isn't (I started on season 5 too btw! xD)
it's about terrible writing and misleading the fans.
If they wanted Ted, oh so badly, to end up with Robin they should have written things differently.

Why make the mother such an important presence (even if we never knew who she was) only to undermine her? Undermine her "epic" romance with ted??? Even her kids didn't think she was important
this show is literally the worst, the writers are mean and awful. They don't know how to write.
