he opened the door to find her standing there, crying. bailey’s first reaction is to make it better even if that’s a hundred times less productive than being there to comfort her in the moment. he can’t help it, he craves being a savior. “what happened?” he blurts out as he takes a step out of his apartment, towards her. “are you hurt?” he inspects for immediate injuries and repeats, “what happened?”

Bookish asks @tvskaa
Wilde: Would you rather relax by reading a new book or by re-reading a well loved book?
As I said before: well-loved book wins every time. Hence my difficulty completing the Sirens Reading Challenge (let alone trying to read more than 50 books in a year). I love new books, I really do, but I’m about as good at reading them as I am watching new shows or movies. (Which is to say I’m not good at it at all... I say as I start rewatching Spooks for the 987th time instead of watching something new.)
Plus I mean... how do you relax with a new book? There’s all those highs to climb, and all those deeply emotional parts to wade through, and a new prose structure to get lost in...? There’s nothing relaxing about a new book. A new book is a bloody adventure.

Beck huffed, the irritation still showing in the twitch of his eyes even after he was finally released from S.H.I.E.L.D.’s hold.
If nothing else the coffee in his hand--actual, good coffee--did a little to alleviate his mood.
He looked up at his new companion. “I’ve heard a lot about you. From your friend. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” It really wasn’t, but it didn’t hurt to be pleasant. He really just wanted to know why she believed him when they hadn’t even met.
