now I'm just imagining the Sheriff and Melissa in the root cellar and the Sheriff is just sitting there muttering to himself and he asks her, 'Jackson? A...a kanima?' and she'll shrug and roll her eyes because how do you explain that to someone

okay so I kept researching the lunar eclipse thing

every year the past few years there's been at least two - some full, some just partial. are we really supposed to believe in the entire time span of Teen Wolf there hasn't been another eclipse? (my point being: in 2011, there were two total lunar eclipses, isn't the show set in 2011?)

because I saw this post, I had to go and research lunar eclipses.

So apparently there are three types of lunar eclipses - full, partial, and penumbral - all which must occur on full moon nights. I figure Jeff/Teen Wolf is talking about a full lunar eclipse, because it's the one where the moon actually goes dark and seems to disappear.

So there are only two or three lunar eclipses a year and a full lunar eclipse lasts for only a few hours. If the Hale fire occurred on the night of the lunar eclipse, Kate would have had to time the lighting of the fire perfectly for the werewolves to be powerless long enough to...er...die. Which makes her even more terrifying (if that's true).

Which makes me wonder what's going to happen on the lunar eclipse night of S3. So the humans (and human!wolves) of Beacon Hills are going to have to time their actions for the small window of opportunity they'll have in the few hours of the eclipse. I can already imagine the alphas just locking themselves in somewhere and waiting out the eclipse, or having traps set up that will take hours to get through.

I'm sure Stiles will research all this once he finds out and plan accordingly (hopefully at least....he's so torn up about his dad and now Scott...)

all I want from the next episode is the bamf!parents rescuing themselves. I want Papa Stilinski to be like, 'oh btw I have a swiss army knife in my boot,' and Melissa to be like 'cool let me wiggle over and get it' and then they get free and they run into Chris outside and he's like 'oh yeah, you guys are actually competent' and they say, 'yeah wait where are our kids?' and he'll be like, 'they're all dunking each other in ice water at Deaton's, I think it's a strange bonding ritual,' and they'll all shake their heads laughing and saying 'teenagers'
