So, after thinking about it, I don't think the oni are really "bad guys". Yes, they killed a lot of people in the flashback and hurt a lot of people in last week's episode. But only after they were attacked first. The killing and maiming were in direct response to a threat. But last night, after they broke down the barrier and got back into the McCall's house and Scott basically told everyone to stand down, it was fine. They walked in, did their scanny thing and left. No blood. No fighting. What is it they are after? A person possessed by a dark spirit. This is actually a good thing. If they can determine who is in danger, then our gang has a better chance of expelling the spirit or whatever. So, the oni are actually good for us and I think will help Stiles get better in the end.
