Also, hopefully this is my last post on this but don't hold your breath, seeing the way that other mcyt creators are talking about the Pyro thing has made me realize that he's pulling a "you can't eat rice on Tuesdays"
Like we have a content creator who is asking their fans to report individuals in the fandom who are doing things he doesn't like, so he can "deal with repeat offenders."
And when people are (rightfully) going "hey, what the fuck?" And pointing out that that's overstepping and an abuse of power, we get framed as the weirdos who are gonna die if we can't make the Minecraft blocks kiss.
Like you all are missing the point, this isn't about "valuing a fictional ship over a real person" or however you wanna phrase it to make us look irrational. This is about someone butting in to a space they know nothing about and are not a part of, and telling us how to act, and then threatening us with harassment if we don't listen to them.
u do gotta be kind to queer christians like. they're shut out by the Christian community at large already. don't shut them out of the queer community.
I say this with zero fucking love for the church, I am forced to go to an evangelical bordering on fundamentalist church a minimum of like 2 times a week. I say this as someone whose father preached a sermon about not altering yourself to "fit the world's view" while looking me dead in the eyes in front of the entire congregation a week after I tried to come out to him as trans. I say this as someone who watched older people in my church only start covering up suspect white supremacist tattoos and stop wearing Confederate flags to church as soon as my black younger brothers started coming to church. like yes. very, very fucking often, that is what the church is, and when one of our queer siblings tries to be openly queer and happy in that space, those people are unlikely to accept them, so we have to.
as a trans man who is also a survivor of sex trafficking, peoples' reactions to that latest Epstein thing is so fucking sickening.
yes. it was disgusting on both sides of the spectrum. fetishizing trans women while being disgusted with trans men is horrible and disgusting for both sides.
but saying that trans men don't have it as bad because it wasn't fetishization just isn't true. i'm going to be a bit explicit here about my own experiences, so please keep that in mind if you continue to read

being a trans man did not save me while being sex trafficked. being a trans man WAS used as a commodity and was commercialized like any other part of me. why? because that's what sex trafficking does. just because those emails were some sex traffickers who thought trans men were too disgusting to be trafficked or raped doesn't mean that's the fucking truth in the industry.
and i'll be honest with you. my experience as a trans man is part of my sex trafficking experience. being a child who was able to perform in androgyny enough to satisfy anyone's sexuality wasn't a fucking privilege. and you're absolutely sick if you think that.
being trans while in an active trafficking situation is so, SO confusing and absolutely horrible in a way that i don't think you can fully comprehend without experiencing it. my identity wasn't my own. i was a male survivor as much as i was a female survivor. i was used as a boy as much as i was a girl.
so don't you DARE act like trans men are somehow less affected or less fetishized. don't use those documents to form your opinions on the intersection of being trans while being sex trafficked.
someone's identity doesn't have to make sense to you for you to accept them as your equal.
yes, this includes he/him lesbians.
yes, this includes she/her gays.
yes, this includes therians.
yes, this includes neopronoun users.
yes, this includes all the other sexualities and identities that you may deem contradictory or invalid. nobody is setting us back more than bigots themselves. get woker immediately.
live and let live.
Regarding the recent discourse, I just wanted to say that I have been in fandom for a long time, been in multiple fandoms, and MCYT has the weirdest relationship to content creators that I have ever seen.
It is strange to me, that fans so easily accept being told what they can and can’t create in fan spaces.
The right to create fanfic was something that fans had to fight hard for. The right to create works that wasn’t Brand Approved. If the creators of any other fandom tried to police what fan works were created, they would either be flat out ignored or there would be riots.
Fandom is our house. We have been living here for much longer than these CCs have been online. Fandom etiquette, the rules of fandom, have existed longer than their fandoms have.
If they want to be here, that’s unusual, but that’s okay. Fandom is welcome to anyone. But they don’t seem to want to be here, just like anyone else. They act like the rules don’t apply to them, or worse, that they make the rules like it’s their house.
And we shouldn’t let them. Please, please, listen to me. This is not just about shipping. This is about not allowing this to become the accepted new normal.
Because if we accept that it’s okay a creator can ban all fanworks of their character being in romantic relationships, what else will we accept? Think about what other kinds of content have been and still are being banned in certain libraries around the world.
Creators can control their own spaces. Their streams, their official discord servers. But not what we do in our own home.
i'm going to be completely honest, i don't think completely erasing avid characters from fanworks (and even canon) is the right way to separate yourself from the creator.
yeah, they were an awful person who did more than horrible things, but the character and creator are completely separate now, especially with avid quitting content creation. these characters no longer belong to them, they belong to the fandom.
i've seen talk of replacing v!avid with a collective oc, and i really don't think this is something we can or should force on people. if someone wants to participate in this, i can't and won't stop them, but we shouldn't act like this is the objectively, only correct course of actions.
i've also seen many people try to remove avid from all their fanworks. now, if people are uncomfortable writing them, that's obviously perfectly fine, but i don't want to see ANYONE claiming that anyone else with an avid character in their fanfiction or comics or drawings or whatever supports them. it is a character, not the creator.
that is all.
Can people PLEASE tag their shit properly I'm tired of seeing
Proship/adjacent dni
At the bottom of EVERY OTHER yumeship post
I have every single tag for that kinda stuff blocked yet I still see it, why?
BECAUSE PEOPLE DON'T TAG THEIR FUCKING POSTS WITH TAGS MEANT TO KEEP PEOPLE THEY DON'T WANT INTERACTING FROM INTERACTING
I blocked at least 5 people within the past few minutes for ts I'm so done with some sides of yumeblr
