It's Disability Pride Month, and I'm starting it off by doing some acknowledgement via Vent Art. Whilst the blue from the four-eyes was an easy allegory for my extreme nearsightedness, I also wanted to do a bit of an experiment with how I did this, to help acknowledge my own chronic pain.

The initial sketch stage of the gold cracks where drawn using places I was actively in pain for the 10 or so minutes I was drawing everything else and cooking. Each of the red-orange lines after are places I was in pain during the lineart section after. Neither of which included time not explicitly drawing. I was also going to include something about how I need a cane to walk, but I wasn't sure how to express that well using this character, or this exercise. Either way, it felt quite cathartic to just admit and acknowledge that yes - I am actually disabled, and I do experience these things. Posted 2nd July, 2024

Infectious Love Tale: Nightmare.

Nightmare: Stats.

Infected? No.

Hunger: 56% (...)

Thirst: 56% (. . .)

Sanity: 8% (...b-b-broth—)

Magic: 4% (...—er?...)

In love? No.

Transcript:

Wears his Tarnished crown.

Goopy face.

Blind 90% of the time.

Wearing other apple pendant. (Gift from Dream)

Pajamas. (Literally helping hold him together)

Can't hold up tendrils.

Other information: (Below cut bc long-)

Due to the amount of emotional distress, and stress he's been feeling, his body is having a hard time holding itself together. (Note, he's been in his nightmare form long enough that his bones are also now made of goop.)

Worry not, if he does start 'melting' it doesn't hurt, he just turns into a puddle for awhile while his magic regenerates. (Still stresses him out.)

VERY clingy to Dream. If Dream is at base, NM is right beside him. If not, he's with Horror, or sitting by the cells of Killer and Cross.

Unless he can muster up enough focus for awhile to move the goop from his face, he's fully blind. (Horror acts as a guide, wherever boss is, Horror is)

Tendrils weigh him down, causing him to have to hunch his back.

After Killer and Cross were infected, is when Nightmare started losing control of his form.

Possibly immune to the infection.

Eating, drinking, and talking is hard... obviously.

Personality closer to passive than himself.

Not allowed on missions.

i based it slightly off of no-face from Spirited away lol.

i had fun experimenting with lighting. might draw the Dreamon team soon idk- i just did this during class zoom calls lol
