i do admire dnp's commitment to the bit in calling their whole thing a '16 year situationship' considering the only couple i've ever met who were more consistent, dedicated, and secure are my parents. and arguably dnp have overtaken them now by virtue of both being alive still
I liked cubone before I had anything incommon with it >;T
random ROTI headcanons i’ve had in my notes app for ways too long lmao.
TWs for: miscarriage mentions, parent/pet death, depression.
Cameron was both a rainbow baby and was born prematurely. It’s part of the reason his mom’s so overbearing with him. She thought she would never have kids until she miraculously got pregnant with Cam. He suffers from a lot of muscular problems due to his being born prematurely and he used to need a back brace. She was extremely proud of him for winning Revenge of the Island, but I doubt her overbearing nature lessened when he got home. Well, maybe it did a little bit because he was allowed to return in All Stars.
Speaking of All Stars, I’ve seen a number of people mention that Mikesys would have or should have split during ROTI all things considered, but I headcanon that Mal came back from dormancy as a result of coming back for All Stars. Rather than being evil though, he’s more so trying to protect himself/the system and genuinely believes that being brutal and reckless and “malevolent” is the only way to survive.
Jo has a younger brother. He’s a good ten years younger than her and he’s probably the only person she isn’t mean to/strict with. If you say even a word about him though she will break your nose in an instant. She loves her baby brother to death. He came home crying once because some kid on the playground pushed him and she was two seconds away from going to that playground and making that place a crime scene. She had no idea what she would’ve done, but she knew it wouldn’t be pretty.
B is mute. A lot of people think he just doesn’t talk “that much” or that he just has selective mutism, but he’s fully mute. He does know sign, he just doesn’t use it outside of his family because he finds a lot of people don’t understand sign.
B and Dawn are good friends too, especially post show. They’re both quiet yet calculating.
Zoey’s had a bunch of hamsters in her lifetime and all of them died in really absurd ways. She remembers coming home from school one day and letting her hamster out of its cage only for it to bolt into the fireplace. Then her parents got her a calico cat that she named Ringo (like the Beatle) only for the cat to kill her other hamster when she tried introducing them. She didn’t get another hamster for a while and miraculously, Ms. Puffycheeks is going on three. She’s learned a lot about hamster care since she was 9.
Dawn will judge people off of their zodiac signs, I’m sorry…not in a bad way! More in an “are we comparable” way. She very quickly figures out everyone’s signs too.
Also Dawn with albinism is a peak headcanon imo (i’m albino so ofc i have to headcanon her as such, lmao). She was never really outcasted for her albinism as much as she was her “odd personality”, but she quickly found she proffered animals to people anyways. Love me an astrology queen. Dawn sweeps.
Brick is a complete and utter daddy’s boy. His mom died during childbirth and his dad was in the Marines until Brick was born and he had to retire. His dad’s all he has, and he does everything in his power to make him proud. His dad’s his hero and he wants to be just like him. It’s part of the reason he has such a strict “no one gets left behind” mindset. He blames himself for his mom’s death quite frequently but his dad never does. His dad’s the sweetest too, albeit kind of terrifying.
Anne Maria’s favorite gelato flavor is strawberry.
She also goes to beauty school and ends up opening her own little boutique in the future. She loves doing nails. I need to see her and Dakota painting each other’s nails right NOW. Maybe Svetlana’s too, Svetlana deserves it <3
Zoey’s really good at baking. She used to do it to appeal to others because who doesn’t like food? But she eventually grew to love it as a hobby rather than something to make others happy. She bakes for Mike a lot. That guy’s got a helluva sweet tooth lmao. He’s prolly the only one of the alters who does…sans Mal, maybe. He just doesn’t eat enough for people to be able to tell.
Dakota actually grew to love herself after her mutation. I feel like being the daughter of a millionaire movie director or whatever she said was pretty hard, and she always pushed herself to be perfect in hopes that she’d one day please her dad. I mean, the whole “your crave for fame is a desperate cry for love” thing doesn’t mean nothing. And the first time she ever felt truly loved was with Sam, who helped her love herself after she mutated. Even though her dad despised having a mutant daughter. For the first time, she didn’t care. She truly felt loved, even if it wasn’t by the man she wanted to be loved by.
Scott def chews on toothpicks and pieces of wheat because he thinks it makes him look tough. It doesn’t, he just looks like a fool.
He has a dirt bike. Because of course he does. His dad also promised him his truck when he actually passed his driver’s test. He’s taken it over 5 times and failed every single time. It’s one of his biggest insecurities. But he really wants that truck. Mostly because it’s cool but also because he’s never really gotten anything from his father. His dad’s just not like that. (I do like thinking about his “you weren’t held enough as a kid” thing…it’s interesting.)
Speaking of driving, none of the alters can drive well, sans Svetlana. Mike can drive, but his reflexes are incredibly sharp, so his turns are really jerky and tend to make the car almost tip over. Chester only goes one speed—45 in a work zone, 45 on the highway. He also doesn’t have the stamina to drive for more than like. 20 minutes. Vito gets insane road rage and honks at everyone for every little reason and would probably get out of the car to yell at you for no reason. Manitoba prefers walking, but he can kinda drive. He gets easily distracted and makes 1000 detours before actually getting where he needs to go. Mal’s like…okay. He doesn’t drive often so it’s hard to tell with him. Svet’s good though.
I also headcanon that each alter has distinct handwriting and it definitely shows when they journal, which I also headcanon they do post show. Mike’s handwriting is okay. Shaky but okay. Chester’s the only one who reads and writes in script, and it pisses him off that the other alters can’t read it. It just proves his point that “kids nowadays don’t know anything!” Vito’s spelling is trash and his handwriting is even worse. Mostly because he’s lazy, partly because he’s a meathead. Manitoba’s handwriting is very sharp and angular. Kind of chicken scratchy but not illegibly so. Svetlana’s handwriting is borderline cursive—very round and flowy. Mal’s handwriting is actually immaculate. He just writes in a microscopic size and refuses to even try to write bigger.
anyway i think that’s all i have…pt. 2 tomorrow?
i think about riz & pok a lot ,
probably out of character…. maybe they’re all high idk
Can we stop assuming that every pro-lifer is a misogynistic, religious, middle aged or older white man? Female pro-lifers exist. How do I know? I used to be one when I was a kid because my mother was. It wasn't until after she died when I was 12 that I started reconsidering my stance on abortion. And yes, she was middle aged white Christian. But she was reasonable, she wasn't racist or homophobic or anything. She dated a black man (my dad), and she was accepting when I came out as pansexual (well, bisexual initially, I didn't know there were more than two genders at first when I was learning about LGBTQ+ community). She even accepted when I left Christianity (this was a couple weeks before she went to the hospital and then died). Yes, she voted for Trump in the 2016 election when I was 7, but during the 2020 election I managed to talk her out of voting for him again for showing her that he's not a good person. Yes, some pro-lifers are just sexist conservative men trying to control women's bodies, but for a lot of them it's genuinely about saving lives (even though banning abortion would do the opposite). Be civil when debating them, they're likely just misinformed. Rest in peace, Mom. 🕊️
dad’s anniversary is tomorrow and i got a tattoo of his writing on my arm.. will show when bandage is off 💗
