♤ Of course, she was having trouble sleeping. Every so often, she could hear cries of pain from the other prisoners, and it kept her awake. Other times, it seemed like the Jailer enjoyed coming over just to keep her and others from really being able to sleep. Even her own injuries that he’d inflicted upon her small frame made it hard for her to rest. Too many nerves were on fire from the torture that was endured.
“Fuck off,” the small soul snarled at him. She would have given him an obscene gesture with her middle finger if he’d not have already broken her hand the last time she’d done so, “if I didn’t have to hear your obnoxious voice, maybe I’d be able to sleep some.”
The fire in her still burned. It hadn’t been doused yet. She still had fight left in her. How much longer would she, though?
