Another Ask!

For some reason I keep getting an error, so I’m posting it like this instead. @obessedwitheverything1998 Asks: what do u think could happened to Stiles in 6x10?!

As I mentioned before, I think that they will give Stiles a “Will Turner”-type write off. What’s a ‘Will Turner’? Well, I’m glad you asked! — Will Turner is a character from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies; in ‘PotC: At World’s End’ he becomes the new Captain of the Flying Dutchman, ferrying souls to the other side. As part of the Dutchman’s curse, Will is only allowed on land for a single day every 10 years. As a storytelling narrative, this allows Will to be talked about by characters and still keeps the possibility of a return/appearance open, rather than killing him off or having to frequently explain why Will isn’t around.

So, here’s a few Stiles scenarios:

A) — Giving Stiles a choice to join or lead the Wild Hunt in order to save Beacon Hills lets everyone have their cake and eat it, too. With the Riders acting strange around Lydia AND her name-dropping the Morrígan, we could have a chance at Dullahan & Banshee Queen mythology mashup, baby. B) — Sending Stiles on an “only you can do it” Quest in the “real world” rather than with the Hunt is an option but less of one than Option A because it opens doors to arguments about graduating from High School, etc. C) — Giving Stiles the Bite gets tricky, no matter the reason. The “plan” to Bite and then Hopalong Cassidy with a Ghost Rider is just… No.* The Bite doesn’t seem to immediately grant the Turn-ee all werewolfy abilities, and Peter may have survived in part because he is a born wolf, an ex-Alpha, older, etc., not just a regular Bitten Beta. Peter scraping through does not mean that any other werewolf/supe-with-enhanced-healing would also survive. Plus, if the people in Terminal are in some kind of stasis bubble (no drinking, eating, etc) then the question of transmission also comes up: if the people are ‘on hold’, would the Bite even work? Too many questions…

- I can see Stiles being Bitten (by Scott) to save his life, but beyond that there would be a sea of uncertainty. Their dynamic makes it extremely difficult to imagine Stiles as a Beta that Scott could just pin down or roar into quiet, much less submission if required.

- Now, I could see Stiles approach Alpha Peter and asking for/agreeing about taking the Bite for other reasons beyond emergency ‘Hail Mary’ passes. I can also see Peter sharing information about the Bite (how fast it kicks in, if it is physiologically transferred or magically granted, whatever) that isn’t known outside of born-Wolf families in order to convince or scare away Stiles. Due to his alignment as well as his pragmatism, it’s possible Peter would have better luck with Stiles as a Beta: they’re not childhood BFFs, they’re not Jimminy Crickets and Peter wouldn’t hesitate to take Stiles down if necessary.

- Oddly, I can also picture an Alpha Liam agreeing to Bite an otherwise healthy, uninjured Stiles as part of a plan, too. We’ve seen Stiles help Liam with control, Liam choosing to help Stiles by following Theo, etc. They seem to have a decent older/kid brother-type relationship, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Liam thought Stiles was making the right call by getting the Bite. At minimum, Liam knows that Stiles has been involved with the supernatural longer and is very aware of the downsides/difficulties of being a werewolf/supe, so he’d be going in eyes wide open. I’d guess Liam would fall between Scott & Peter, partially because he does seem to have a brotherly view of Stiles but that view is tempered by Liam’s own understanding of anger/lack of control. I don’t think Stiles would stay in an Alpha Liam-led Pack (unless Scott died or Stiles was somehow Forbidden to leave Beacon Hills), but I also think Liam gaining Alpha -and- Biting Stiles is the most unlikely.

- Of the many 6Ax10 scenarios I have spinning around, Liam or Peter becoming an Alpha by killing Der Gebeiztwolf -or- Scott giving Liam part/all of the “True Alpha” spark rank fairly high tbh. Whether a Bitten Stiles joins the Full Moon Club or leans toward Lydia’s Team Supernatural-ish is another “down the Meta rabbit hole” thing, and chances of a Bite scenario unlikely anyway, so…. D) — Dying? Stiles killed off? Nope and nope. That’s probably the thing I am most certain of. E) — Being Bitten by Der Gebeiztwolf and turning Ghost Rider to survive, —OR— defeating him and so then be required to take his place as Jägermeister —OR— destruction by infiltration after being taken by the Hunt without a deal or exchange for safety of Beacon……these all involve disregarding the Dullahan & Morrígan legend that I mentioned in A for a grunt role or a cursed role instead. Those are on the table, too, but if anything I’d lean toward the scenario of Stiles making a secret deal. He hasn’t had a surprise background plan like S2 Gerard pill swap or S5b Deucalion backroom spying, so Stiles dropping “They’re leaving because I asked them to.” would be a parallel and somewhat traditional someone-is-keeping-secrets Teen Wolf Finale ending.

(note) — one of the hardest things about being “meta-minded” is a constant If This Then That train of thought. Too many variables make predictions hard to nail down or map out to my satisfaction. :-/

Anyway…. the most likely storylines certainly gives Stiles a heroic out, remove him from the 6B main plotlines, and give wiggle room if it ever comes to answering questions about Stiles, his own life, if his future continues to be wrapped up in the supernatural, if he is/will be supernatural himself….but honestly I don’t have a lot of hope that we’ll ever get those details. Imho, 6B will focus on Scott and the 2.0 crew with little Stiles snippets only.

And another BONUS ROUND! - Real-life reasons for a Will Turner ending? We know that O'Brien is going to South Africa to film ‘Maze Runner: The Death Cure’ in the next few weeks and will be probably be in production for roughly 3-4 months. ‘American Assassin’ will be released this year, rumors are saying August/September and since AmAs is the foundation film for an action franchise, a summertime press tour seems inevitable. All signs point to O'Brien being overseas filming or contractually bound to other projects for months. [ Note - I am aware of the rumors re: negotiations for new limited contract but am purposefully omitting this rumor from this post. ] - All that aside, 6B is almost completely wrapped and will start airing very soon (Feb. 7 or Feb. 21 were the most recent I heard about, I’m thinking that February Sweeps aren’t a concern due to S6 being final season) and the entire Season 6A & 6B should be completely done with run by June/July. Watching Sticky from @bhadpodcast call out TWW is always cathartic.

Legal, logistics and lead-in are all layered, complex things. It's not some handshakes and xerox low key stuff. ... Oh, and seriously, sources popping up about closed door contract crap but no-one can drop an Insta or Snap or even just slide an envelope with some episode spoilers? .... I mean, I know the Russians have been simply swamped since November so them just getting 6x02 out meant a lot, Большое Спасибо, but what is going on in CA, in S6a/6b, stuff filming now? It's so quiet it is suspicious.
