Hithlum during War of Wrath
Thanks to the awesome @outofangband for inspiring me on this one
-I think when War of Wrath started the occupiers of Hithlum hid it from the peoples of Dor Lomin, they can't join the host of the valar if they don't know what's going on, right?
-The Hadorians were, as said above, not told what was happening but they could tell something big was going down
-Dor Lomin is one of the only places left in late stage Beleriand that has usable farmland (though I hc there is still something Wrong with the crops grown there)
-Dor Lomin is now growing food to support Morgoth's troops in WoW
-The Hadorians, of course, are the ones who suffer for this; they are overworked and again have no idea what the hell is going on
-The occupiers do what every real world evil does when it's about to be discovered; They try to rapidly erase evidence
-They purge documentation of public punishments
-They destroy any evidence they can find of Aerin being forced to marry Brodda; they try to portray it as a happy marriage
-They double down on portraying Morwen as a Witch who tormented Dor Lomin, fake stories are written depicting her as murderous and cruel
-They write that Brodda rode to her house to beg mercy from a great evil, when the truth is he rode out to try to kill a child and a heavily pregnant women (props to Morwen for scaring him off)
-They claim Morwen chased him away with dark magic
-Most Hadorians at this point know something Big is happening but they certainly don't think Valinor is finally intervening; they have little time to ponder it between manual labor and trying to preserve as much of their culture as they can
-Something Big is happening and many of their oppressors have left for war
-An uprising happens
-It is defeated, barely, but it weakens their oppressors greatly
-Finally the host of the valar come through; Dor Lomin is liberated (but what is left of it?)
-Most Hadorians want revenge against Morgoth for all he has done, most join the host of the valar
-Day Will Come Again is their war cry
-Some are distrustful of the valar and have fallen victim to the propaganda the oppressors put them through
-War of Wrath ends, Beleriand sinks, Dor Lomin is gone
-The Hadorians go to Numenor; They hold tight to the scraps of their culture they saved
-I think at least some of it was saved
