Okay, so, let's talk Tolkien dragons.
In Tolkien's works, we see dragons as an overall evil force, such as Smaug, Scatha, Glaurung, and Ancalagon(I swear there's others but I can't think of them rn) We know they were bred and used as great forces in Morgoth's armies, as he used them several times in his conquests.
BUT! I have a lot of questions for this, as it is stated that Morgoth does not have the power to create new life, only corrupt what has already been. Now this poses a question for me: were dragons already a creature created, and were then just corrupted into a more evil creature?(like the balrogs or some of the maia) Or were they a different creature altogether, and then were changed by Morgoth's evil?(such as the orcs)
I figure it really could be either way, but I want to hear some more opinions on Tolkien dragons! Give me your head cannons, ideas, thoughts, or what you know from reading the books; I am literally so curious if other people have thoughts on this!
