About the age thing, I think it may be a conflation of two things: born werewolves could potentially follow the Coligny Calender, and well, they age a bit slower.
-The calender synchronized the solar year and lunar month.
-Probably started in Summer or Autumn
-355 days and an extra (13th) month every 2.5 years.
-Months divided into fortnights (of 15 + 15, or 14)
-30 day months were lucky, 29 day months were unlucky
-New or Full moon is the start of the Month (maybe)
-Math stuff in the last bullet that amounts to what I think is the following: they follow a system with the 13th month that catches up to our system of 12 after about 30 years.
