Fmdtask009 Aesthetic AU -- Child of Hades, Althea Karalis
Being a child of the big three wasn’t always so full of life and roses, especially when you were the daughter of Hades. It was her fate to be the child that her father used to defy the Fates who had warned him against conceiving her with her mother, a warning--that foretold that her powers would be too strong for even herself to control. In this life--Her name is given by Hades, even though her mother names her Da-hee.
Althea Karalis.
She first experiences her powers when she’s around 5. Terrifying it is for a young child that age to wake and realise that she’s trapped in the claustrophobic confines of a washing machine, bubbles of shadow licking against her feet, and her voice unreaching to the world outside. It only get worse as she grows. Her shadows teleport her wherever it wants, causing earthquakes, cracks in land as she tries to reign in some semblance of control. Her eyes darken from the lack of sleep, her wrist tied to the bedpost in case her will fails her and she falls asleep, letting her shadows swallow her once more into oblivion and transported to somewhere else she never knows.
She’s 6 when her next power reveals itself--and Althea wishes that she had never had that power awaken, for now physical touch and intimacy was something she couldn’t bear. Just a brush of skin against skin led to her head snapping back and visions of death of the person she touched to assault her senses. She learned to fear death, and fear the presence of people. Because everything just hurt.
Even getting to the camp is a hassle for her.
She’s hunted by a hydra, and delirious with fever as she stumbles up the hills safety, high pitched muttering from her lips and eyes rolling as the first demigod that touches her sends her once more into a screaming fit as visions of death plagues her.
She ends up being a loner in there. But its not that much of a surprise.
She was always destined to forever bear the burden of being alone, that was all.
