one day, i will collapse in the street and i will be rushed to the hospital and they will remove the black slimy thing that has grown in my chest, winding itself around my heart and lungs and infecting my soul. they will tell me that the last recorded case of this disease was in the 18th century and that i was very unlucky to have contracted it however now that it had been removed i would never get it again and neither would anyone else. and once they remove this thing that had been sucking my life out of my bones for the past four years i will be able to laugh and love and allow myself to be loved and learn and remember and i will be as smart and funny and as kind as i was before. and i will not hurt or want to die or wish i had been born a boy and the scars on my wrists and thighs will fade and i will not feel naked without them. i will eat without feeling sick and pray to a god i finally believe in and thank him for fixing me at last.
