To say she's grown used to having consistent company would be a lie, something akin to old habits dying horrifically hard from centuries of loneliness and solitude making itself known in the way she struggles to understand that she has a friend for once; Someone she feels safe and comfortable with in some regard that isn't a silver haired man long since deceased because their bodies were not meant for longevity with no aid.
The invitation had been... Unexpected yet not unwelcome, though it's not as if Miriam should be surprised that @tw1stedcurse would want her company when his younger brother wasn't available, beings such as them don't get the privilege of interacting with the more mundane aspects of life. ( Not yet anyways.. ) That's what she thinks, something about finding it difficult to believe someone would actively seek her out merely for the sake of spending time together for whatever reason only to further be surprised by the subtle weight pressing to her shoulder.
It's instinctive, the tension leaving her posture while carefully shaped nails hesitate to burrow in dark hair, gently scratching at his scalp as though trying to provide comfort despite not knowing what for, he doesn't seem upset though and from all of her years observing people, she can't tell why; just that she doesn't mind the contact. Perhaps he's bored, maybe even tired for whatever reason, she doesn't know but it's difficult to mind much. “ Are you okay? ”
