Summary: After ten years of fame and glory, your time is up and you must pay the price. Your soul.
“You seep through my mind. You dig through every corner and bump around in my mind. Somebody shine the light. Nobody feel me now. Where are my friends?”
Mingyu had been counting down the days until he got to see you again. 3,651 days had gone by since your last encounter. At least that you knew of. He’d been watching you ever since that fateful day you went to his crossroad. A singer! You said you wanted to be a singer. Of course being the saint he is, Mingyu did you one better. An idol. A KPop star. Unfortunately, your fifteen minutes- well, ten years- of fame, was up. In a few hours anyway, and Gyu couldn’t wait. He had been tempted to… end your contract early, to get you to him sooner, but he couldn’t risk those above finding out and taking you away from him. No, he wanted you all to himself. He was even going to collect you himself, not even his hellhounds were gonna lay a claw on that beautiful body of yours. That was for him and him alone.
He watched as you made your final notes of goodbye to everyone, you knew your time was coming to an end, it was written all over your face. You’d been awaiting it since the year began. Although it was obvious you didn’t think it would come so quickly, but for Mingyu it didn’t come quick enough.
You sat at your desk, finishing up the last of your letters to everyone. An apology and goodbye to those closest to you. Once finished, you sat there just staring at the letters written, and wondered if the last ten years had been worth it? The fame. Was it worth it? The tabloids, the rumors, not being able to say what you thought, be with who you wanted, the sasaengs. It made you wonder if it was worth your soul. Your eyes glance to a few gifts given to you at fan signs. A smile graces your face. The fans, the friends, the experiences, the lives changed? How happy it made you all together? Of course, it was worth it. You just didn’t know if the way you got there was satisfying. You had cheated your way there. None of it was satisfying.
You look at the time on your phone. 10:56. Four minutes left now. Ten years went by quick. A tear escapes and rolls down your cheek, you quickly wipe it away. You were expecting to hear the growls and the sound of claws against the door, but instead, it was oddly quiet.
Two minutes left now, you stand up and take everything in one last time.
A knock sounded at the door and your breath hitched, No one should be here. With shaky legs and wobbly arms, you made your way to the door.
Mingyu’s eyes shined bright red. It was finally happening. When you opened the door, a cheshire grin appeared on his face, while fear and realization appeared on yours. Mingyu steps forward and presses you against the now closed door. His right hand clasped around your neck and his left used his demonic claw to trace an “M” on your cheek, just barely drawing blood. Mingyu’s smile widened and he leaned forward, and he licked up the red liquid that trickled down. He laughed at the whimper you released.
“I’ve waited so long for this moment. Are you ready for our first night of all eternity of this beautiful soul being mine and mine alone.”
