Dialing you-u-u, sorry, darling, you
Text || Quinnter {Thursday after Thanksgiving}
Quinn: Hunter Clarington I have some questions for you.
Hunter: Uh-oh! What did I do?
Quinn: Well, I figured I'd hear from you this week once you got back into the city and figured out what's next. But nadda, nothing. So this is me informing you that I'm coming to New York this weekend to see you in person.
Hunter: Sorry...yeah that is my bad. Things are okay though. I mean, better than okay really. Sebastian has been really good; in some ways it feels like we're closer than ever. But I feel like...well, he's Seb. I know he's also putting up walls now.
Quinn: You'd never know you guys had split up by scrolling your social medias. Well, apart from ... who's Jay Baker?
Hunter: I know, and I think that is on purpose. You know how private Sebastian is. I'm okay to let people think what they want about us. But he wants to have a "we broke up party." And let people know then. After the hubbub of the holidays.
Quinn: A what?
Hunter: He said it is like a divorce party but not lame. I don't exactly want to celebrate our breaking up, but if it's something he needs to do for him, then I'm going to support it and him. Because he's my best friend.
Quinn: And who is Jay Baker?
Hunter: Oh... yeah. So uh, Jay is the guy I'm seeing.
Quinn: Hunter! That was quick.
Hunter: It's complicated. Jay is a factor in why Sebastian broke up with me. I kind of fell for him. HARD. As in leave Ojai (where we were for Thanksgiving) in the middle of the night and fly up to San Francisco when I found out he'd been in an accident.
Hunter: Oh, and Jay is Sebastian's college boyfriend. His one "real" ex. And he works for Sebastian's dad as a nanny for Matthew (Seb's little brother) and sometimes Annabelle (Seb's grandfather's little girl-- technically she's Aunt Annabelle but she's seven so...).
Quinn: And Sebastian is fine with all of this?
Hunter: I know-- it's weird right? But he pretty much was the one who told me to go after Jay after he broke up with me and made me go back to Ojai with him. And suggested I make a move sooner than later because Jay had recently started seeing this real estate agent here in the city.
Quinn: I'm used to these complicated, twisted relationships after high school, but I thought you Dalton boys were better than this. Plus we're not teenagers anymore, you're grown men.
Quinn: Well that came out far more judgy than I meant.
Hunter: You think?!
Quinn: It's weird. Sorry. I'm processing.
Quinn: So you're doing okay?
Hunter: A lot better than I expected to be honest. And that's because of Seb. So it's hard but we're going to work it out. I just can't imagine my life without him in it.
Quinn: Well, I'm still coming up to check on you, and Seb, for myself. And meet this new guy. See what his story is.
Hunter: Quinn- you're going to love him. He's an artist. He's beautiful. He's creative and fun. And he's from California, so he's super chill.
Quinn: Mhmm. I'll send you my train info. And I'll see you Friday evening.
Hunter: Yes Ma'am. 😛
Quinn: Shut up.
Quinn: I'm glad you're okay.
Hunter: Thanks Q. See you Friday.
The last minute spring of Disney that Lizzie put on Tom, had him running around his house like a bat out of hell, between packing his carry-on and making sure Loki would be well situated. He and Lizzie booked a later flight and it was about time for him to leave and pick her up at her house, given she lived a bit closer to the airport. On his way over, he asked Siri to send her a ten-minute warning text and asked if she could meet him outside, given he was a bit behind schedule. They still had plenty of time, really, but Tom liked arriving at airports two hours early and LAX was huge. You just never knew if security would be long or if something would go wrong with tickets or the parking pass. As soon as he arrived, he saw Lizzie exiting her house right on queue.
Tom moved out of the vehicle immediately, swiftly moving towards her. “There she is! In all her righteous glory! We are not worthy of miss Elizabeth Olsen, Emmy-award-nominated-actress and soon-to-be...winner.” He mock bowed several times on his way up to her, reaching for her hand and pulled her in his arms. “Tom Hiddleston’s girlfriend, second.” Tom moved his head down to kiss her deeply, immediately wrapping his arms tighter around her waist and lifted her off the ground, swinging her around in a circle as he hugged her to his body, tight enough to where it were almost bone-crushing. He set her down after several moments, still holding her close and kissing her until he pulled the air out of both of their lungs. “If that didn’t tell you how proud I am of you, I’m telling you now.” He smiled, resting his hands over either side of her face before kissing her forehead and reaching behind her for her suitcase. “Okay, off to Disney, we go.”
Tom packed some small books of poems and Shakespeare in his personal bag to pass the time on the flights to and from, and the waiting in the airports. He was content and quiet most of the flight, which was pretty sparse and kept dark inside, giving them two rows worth to themselves and allowing hand holding. He occasionally played with Lizzie’s fingers, leaned over to kiss her or would whisper-read her something in her ear that spoke to him and thought she’d like. Then, he’d eventually fallen asleep during the last hour and a half, his head situated on top of Lizzie’s and hand rested on her thigh. It was the best sleep he’d ever gotten on a flight before. Getting to the hotel was easy, regardless of how tired and slightly jet-lagged he felt, not even allowing himself to consider the lack of sleep they’d get before having to get up and go into the parks.
As soon as they woke up from the alarm, Tom big-spooning and cuddling the hell out of Lizzie, he pressed his face into the back of her neck and groaned, burying his face in her hair. It took him five minutes to get up, feeling like he’d been hit by a train. First thing he did was make a small pot of the complimentary room coffee for the both of them, then he changed into a navy blue t-shirt and black shorts, washed his face and brushed his teeth and hair, lounging on the bed while he waited for Lizzie to finish getting ready. As soon as she was, he reached in the nightstand drawer before standing and walking over to her, handing her a velvety navy blue jewelry case. Inside it held a small but gorgeous red stone that matched Wanda’s colors perfectly, some little flecks of green in that matched Loki’s colors when the sun hit right, and a pair of matching stud earrings. What better time to give her than right before going into Disney. “Here, my love. It’s a gift for your Emmy nomination.” He ran his hand along Lizzie’s upper-arm then moved to rest it around her waist, kissing her forehead. @lizcolsn
One thing I wish canon could have given us was a fleshing-out of Hashirama's family life and his relationship with Mito. The first Hokage and the first jinchuriki for Kurama--if not the first jinchuriki period--what an intriguing marriage that must have been! Do you have any headcanons as to what their dynamic could have been like? Thanks again!
Hello ♥ thank you for the ask! I have so many headcanons that this took me some time to write, so I’m sorry for the wait! This is just a part of my what I remember and I have much more. I will also use the - in names for now so it doesn’t appear in tags.
I love HashiMito. The only problem is that it’s basically always Hash-ramaxOCwife. She can be mean, she can be outgoing, she can be shy, she can be like Kushina – so it’s sometimes hard for me to tell I ship it, because it depends on portrayal, although I do firmly believe that it was a marriage out of love. Even if they arranged it, I don’t think Hash-rama would marry someone he wouldn’t love. So even i fit was political, Hash-rama was in love with Mito.
I usually headcanon they met maybe ~ ten months after Mad-ra left Konoha, so Hash-rama must have been 27-29. Hash-rama wasn’t doing very good and was often grief stricken. And then Mito came and painted Hash-rama’s world.
I headcanon that before meeting Mito (and this is one of my oldest headcanons) Hash-rama wasn’t able to create beautiful details with mokuton. He tried, but it was never like he could do some jewerly, wooden brooch, or create an ornamental furniture – that’s why his hobby is wood sculpting, because he wasn’t able to do it just with chakra. And after meeting her, somehow, it worked, like he was a source of peace and inspiration for him.
Now, my headcanons about how they were and how arranged the marriage was, differs from universe to universe. I roleplayed with a few Mitos and each one was different. Since I actually had Mito when I started to rp Hash-rama, before I even understood him properly, this person’s roleplay affected my headcanons a lot (I also had Mad-ra who affected my headcanons and rp from this angle.)
Generally, I have two alternative headcanons for Mito’s behavior.
(1) The strong type that grounds Hash-rama and has none of his shit. She sees through him and if he goes to a pub, she will make sure he doesn’t have more money than he can afford to lose. She calls him out on his behaviour and actually knows him. It’s a tough love, but Hash-rama needs it. She knows more about Hash-rama than he knows about himself and knows that he is sometimes delusional and lives in a complete denial, even about his feelings towards Mad-ra. This is where Hash-rama feels seen and understood and respects Mito a lot.
(2) The type that loves Hash-rama, but doesn’t see through him and lives in her own version of denial even when he tries to tell her once he has a moment of weakness. If Hash-rama would tell her he loves Mad-ra by some accident, she would tell him that she knows that he loves him as a friend. This universe is not that happy for Hash-rama as he feels like his needs are ignored even if he’s doing his best to communicate them – his best isn’t good enough though.
My alternative headcanons on how they met:
(1) It was an arranged marriage. Hash-rama went to see her to the Whirlpool village, but didn’t think he would like this girl enough to marry her. Then, he saw her, talked to her the whole night, and in the morning knew that he wants to be with her forever.
(2) This is where they met once when they were younger. He pretended to be a sailor and thought she is some beautiful sirene from the sea. But they don’t get each other’s names. After a few years, when Mad-ra is in village, Mito’s father approaches Konoha and asks for an arranged marriage between them, but Hash-rama refuses, because he wants to live his single life with Mad-ra and party hard with Mad-ra. Plus, he doesn’t know it’s the girl he saw once. So, Mito’s father arranges a marriage between her and feudal lord. After Mad-ra leaves, Hash-rama is invited to the engagement celebration. He realizes Mito is the girl he once saw and that he refused to marry her before and now she has to marry the feudal lord. The problem is, Mito doesn’t like the feudal lord, so Hash-rama tells her to run away with him and they run away to Konoha, breaking the engagement. Mito’s parents then have to pay penalty which is ruining the Whirlpool country (for the future drama)
Other headcanons:
(1) Mito’s father is the leader of Whirlpool village (not very original, but hey!)
(2) They have six children and they both love them.
(3) https://oh-my-Hash-rama.tumblr.com/post/190474408495/i-have-a-melodramatic-headcanon-that-mito-was Mito and Kyuubi - headcanon (I swear I saw this being used in some fic after I published this and idk if it’s a coincidence or not? Is it that obvious? I’d just like to know) tw abortion
(4) They have a big house in Konoha that Mito’s father paid for
(5) Before Hash-rama died, he started to build a room for Mito in the attick where she would relax and read and take a break from the children. He created bookshelves with his mokuton, made beautiful libraries, bought her books and paid people to make a beutiful chairs and coaches. He spent lot of time on it, so much that Mito thought he’s trying to avoid her. He planned to give it to her on her birthday, May 3rd. But before her birthday came, Hash-rama died.
So Mito discovered the room after his death. And it was a place she grieved him the most. One day she realized that she can see his face on the mountain from the window and that the sun shines on it right before the sunset.
(6) Tob-rama has quite a crush on her and really respects her.

It was equally as easy as it was painful to listen to the young man’s reply - if only because Karl had anticipated to get some snarl back because of his honest question. A bite, a sarcastic response close to ‘how the fuck do I know’ or ‘well, you certainly don’t make it any better, together with that monster-family of yours, including Miranda, who wants to use my kid as a goddamn vessel!’...
... But nothing of that sort happened. Ethan’s voice was much softer as he spoke, causing the iron Lord to peer at him from the corner of his eyes, a hint of surprise lingering on his features, and Heisenberg found himself listening eagerly to what he had to say.
Opening up a bit about his own childhood, even if it was just a fraction of what was there, but intimate enough to have a significant effect - on both of them.
The engineer got to know so much more details with just one curious ask that had slipped from his mouth - that Winters wasn’t an only child, and that his mother had died when he was born. A fate that was a hard one to carry, and part of Karl understood how it must feel like, though he couldn’t really relate.
... Somehow, something inside Heisenberg’s chest felt warm all of a sudden as more words hit his ears, sunk into his brain to be processed there. Noting the tone the blond used when he talked about his daughter, how much he loved her, that whatever was there on feelings was almost too much for him to handle. That there indeed was something eternal, an emotion reserved only for Rose that the young father had plenty to spend of.
And that he would do. Love her, unconditionally, do everything for that little bundle of flesh and bones even if it included dying. Would gladly sacrifice his own existence and suffer through centuries of torture if that meant that his daughter was safe and sound, had a future to experience.
It felt hard to swallow, all of a sudden, and Karl choked a bit before turning it into an awkward clearing of his throat to conceal it - bringing a hand up to his chest to give it one-two-three hits with his fist in an attempt to unblock his airways. Swallowing thickly, adams apple bobbing, fingers back on that piece of metal to do... something. Nothing useful. Just fiddling, occupying themselves.
He felt so incredibly guilty all of a sudden.
Even though this wasn’t his own damn kid. Even though it wasn’t his fault that this brat had been separated into pieces, that Miranda wanted to use her for her own purposes. It was literally that bitch who had decided to go down this hell of a route and who had pulled them all into this bullshit.
A while back, Karl Heisenberg hadn’t even cared about it. Not his kid, not his life. Just one of so many who had already died, suffered through what his bitch of a mother had done to them.
But now, with Ethan Winters being here, the father of that young girl, telling him about unconditional love and showing that he would do everything for her...
It did a few things to the iron Lord. And he wasn’t sure if he liked them or not.
It reminded him of his own past. Back when he was younger, a child still, had been allowed to live with his own parents for nine years before things had changed. He’d been allowed to hear his mother singing to him whenever he didn’t want to fall asleep, had been allowed to have his father scold him for being a bad boy when he’d tried to steal sweets out of the damn cupboard. He even remembered that scent from him smoking the pipe, with his mother being less than amused about the smell clinging to the freshly washed linen.
Things Karl had long forgotten, but now flooded his mind like a fucking tsunami, trying to drown hin im whatever that was that made his chest become much too tight.
“I still wonder how much it hurt them when they realized I was gone.”
That deep baritone, so much more calm and soft, was barely there as the words slipped from the engineer’s lips, grey hues focussed on that scrap part of iron he turned between his gloved fingertips. A screw unscrewing itself from a hole, hovering next to the other metal part, without the man even moving a single finger to make that action happen.
“And I wonder if their love was as... eternal as yours is. ---For Rose.”
Part of him knew. Hoped that it had been the case. He remembered that he’d been loved and that his real mother had told him such in the past... but since he couldn’t even remember her voice, her face, the same with his father - it was hard to keep those memories close. Got harder and harder to make them stay, as they faded with the years that had passed.
One day, he mused, he wouldn’t even remember what his home used to look like. Would forget the scent of freshly baked Pfannkuchen and the smoke of his father’s pipe. Would forget the songs his mother used to sing to him to make him calm down. Would forget the sight of grass and flowers spreading over the fields whenever the farmers did not use them, what it had felt like to run through them and getting back home with his clothes being absolutely filthy, being scolded about his carelessness.
One day, it would all be gone.
And then there would be nothing left of what - and who - Karl Heisenberg was. His fake-mother, the one who had hurt him and used him for her own purposes, the only one he could remember. The one he would be connected to, with his real family eradicated from this world and his own mind.
... He pressed his lips together tightly, feeling his own blunt teeth pressing down against the bottom one, the scar lingering there. Could feel his own skin giving in, the taste of copper flooding his tongue. The sting passing by, unnoticed.
“One day, it will all be gone. One day, there is nothing left. ---Whatever there will be, after we’ve destroyed that bitch and gotten Rose back into your waiting arms... I know that certain things will never change.”
The scrap piece of iron broke, all of a sudden. Falling into tiny pieces between his gloved hands, like sawdust, trickled down onto the floor as his gaze followed the motion.
“I will forget what it was like. There won’t be anything that keeps reminding me of what I have once been, before the world was turned into burning flames of death and decay. I will lose myself, and the only thing that will follow along is that memory of latex-covered hands, sharp blades, blood and excruciating pain. ---She will define me, instead of what my biological parents once brought into this world.”
A heavy pause followed, something thick lingering in the air.
“We cannot change my fate anymore - but yours. And that of your kid, Winters.”
Rose hadn’t deserved this. Ethan hadn’t deserved this.
It didn’t matter if the blond would continue to hate him for the rest of their journey. If he would leave the engineer behind to rot in loneliness when he’d lost everything that had once been there.
The last thing he could do was to offer a helping hand. Even if it may felt uncanny to some, since Heisenberg wasn’t supposed to feel all such things.
But the more time he spent with that man, the more he was allowed to listen to him and his love for his child... The more he could relate. And the more he realized that certrain things were able to be turned around, while other’s weren’t.
“We’ll get her out of there, somehow. I promise.”
Grey hues were still staring down at that pile of iron dust between his boots. The taste of copper still lingered on his tongue. Still unable to face the young blond, but he hoped the message came across anyways.
Drabble/Open Starter
“Now, I don’t know why you thought it’d be a clever idea to follow me.” came the calm comment of the strange voice in the head of another. The other who’d blundered into this situation that only one of them needed to be in.
Standing there in that dark room, headless of the warnings other’s had surely given them. Not that they seemed to have heeded those or his warnings. The warning’s he’d left in the red on the grass and the trail of combat borne carnage that the other had followed, be that with a good noses help or not, to where they were now.
“’Specially if you knew what you were looking at on the way here,.”
This dark room, dull wolf golden-yellow eyes staring down at the staring other. Red drips marring the dirt speckled storage room in where they both now found themselves.
“S’rather a dangerous place to be right now.”
Evidence of the dangers in cornering a being like him apparent in the grim spectacle that led up to the growling shadowy canine form pressed into a corner now plainly visible to the stranger. The red trail that led to it interspersed with the tapestry of chaos that spoke of further violence, not that the other would be able to work out that he’d ambushed someone in there.
“Specially considering what’s here and how close you are to it.”
Wasn’t like they were a cop or something. Not that he overly cared what the other was or wasn’t, standing there staring down at what to them must look like some sort of timber wolf. Or at the very least like some very angry werewolf.
Slowly and carefully standing, taking pains to hide the fact he’d picked up one of his hind legs (That’d be interesting when he tried shifting again) as he glared and growled at the other. “Either we have a problem, your stupid, or you have a reason for still standing there in front of a being that most would tell you is very much a danger to your health.”
“So get talking.”
It’s a ball, you might as well go all out. Idc if I’m being too extra.
