Listen. This scene kills me still. Because he was so prepared for her to reject him, he doesn’t even know what to do for a second. He’s a little confused and surprised and yes, totally in love, and the way he looks down at her lips before he slowly closes his eyes, letting her take over, but not really, because he’s so happy to kiss her, he meets her lips before she can get there. This moment is so angsty and sexy and beautiful and just… everything you could want out of an OTP.

I don’t know for sure, but based on what little I’ve heard about this episode, I don’t really think that’s going to be a problem. But Carl clearly hasn’t gotten used to having a black mama yet, because no kid in their right mind would take that risk, especially when you don’t know when Moms is coming home. 😄 And this is precisely why they need someone black in that writer’s room. Because he should’ve at least thought twice about leaving Alexandria.

I agree! Not only is it just sexy as fuck, but what a relief it must be to not have to be in control for a few minutes. You know he’s not used to that in a relationship. And it’s especially important in this moment where he’s lacking self-confidence, and he doesn’t quite know what’s going on when she stops him from kissing her cheek. He looks so turned on when he realizes what’s happening.

(By the way, the look on his face + way he tilts his head when he goes in to kiss her is my kink.) But yeah, the fact that she’s embracing him, when he was clearly prepared for rejection, and then she kisses him like that? Rick is probably on the road with Aaron right now, not paying attention to a word he says, because he’s still thinking about this kiss.
