It just occured to me that the Tillie Walden comic really makes Clementine a down right asshole.
Not only does she abandon AJ which she promised him she never would again (seriously, how do you disrespect TFS so badly?)
But consider this: AJ and most likely Ruby with some possible help (and sick to death worrying) from the others, saved Clementine’s life by healing her chopped off leg. The game skips this entirely but you can just picture how Clementine was on the brink of dying when AJ brought her back to the school and it must have taken tons of effort and days if not weeks of her to survive and heal from the amputation and blood loss. I’ve already read some fanfics describing this but you just know Ruby was fighting to save Clem’s life, possibly aided by AJ and Aasim while Louis/Violet cried and prayed and hoped their beloved/best friend would make it. Then imagine the joy and relief from them all when she did!
Clementine literally would have died if not for AJ and the Ericson kids, they nursed her back to health. She owes them her life.
So, how does Clementine repay them according to Tillie Walden?
By dumping them, shortly (!!) after she’s recovered, not even saying goodbye to any of them?? Hell, she wasn’t even going to say goodbye to AJ, he only got a forced goodbye as he followed her runaway ass!
I don’t care whatever money-grabbing label Skybound is slapping onto this mess because Tillie wanted to write her fanfiction after not even having played the games.
