There are many social media dashboards that serve as tools to users to simplify or increase effectiveness depending on what you are looking for. There is something for everyone:
Tweetdeck App (for iphone):
Simple, user-friendly, but honestly, not that much of a difference from regular twitter. I am an advertising major, the persuading industry, and if real benefits don't stand out and get my attention, tweetdeck app...DELETE!
LOVE LOVE LOVE Seesmic! Its reminds me of 'spaces' application apple computers have. You can merge your social media accounts such as Facebook, twitter, tumblr and more, into one! When you post a comment or photo, you get to choose which of the medias you want to to come up in. Also, it is arranged in a way that you can read the different updates of your different accounts, so you read through all your notifications quickly andefficiently.
Perfect twitter dashboard for multi-taskers! It lets you watch your timeline, mentions, and inbox at the same time. It lets you glimpse all at once and make you a more effective social media user. Personally, I wouldn't use it, since I use social networks for leisure, so I like taking my time going through each individually.
I always wondered how my social media professor, DR4WARD, tweets in the classrooms without even touching a computer! Experimenting with this dashboard I realized tweets can be scheduled by day and time. AWESOME! There's a lot of other benefits offered like tweeting from your email and handling more than one twitter account at the same time!
Unlike tweetdeck (simple), TweetGrid has more options and features. For some people it might be too complicated for social networking, yet others who learn how to use it well probably make more out of it than through other dashboards. I think that TweetGrid users are probably big companies.
I like this dashboard a lot! You can have different columns of things you want to follow. for example, in one column you have your timeline, on another #newhousesm4 timeline, and on another column a friends timeline, mentions, etc. It's good when you are trying to have constant updates of different things.
