Time in Togo
Deciding upon a title for the blog was a struggle. Every permutation of "to go to togo" was taken, as were many of the other alliterations I came up with. But I didn't decide upon "Time in Togo" purely for its alliterative qualities, although, (as anyone who has ever read a paper of mine will attest), I do love some good alliteration.
First, I will be living in Togo for a long time - twenty-seven months, to be exact. Two months of training and two years of service is a long time for anyone, but especially for a twenty-one-year-old who graduated college a week ago, two years seems particularly lengthy.
More important than the length of my time in Togo is how I will spend my time. I'm excited to relish the process more than focusing on the end goal - although I'll never be able to wholly forget about that final aim. You can moderate a type-A personality, but you can't do away with it altogether. How exactly will I be spending my time? Stay tuned - you'll hear as soon as I find out myself.
