‘I’m your daughter.’ Those three words kept playing in his mind, like a record on repeat. He remembered the confusion he felt, when he drove up to his place, only to see a petite blonde preteen standing near his gate, looking longingly. At first he thought it was some sort of mistake. Possibly some scammer putting a young girl into their schemes and searching for money. But one good look at her and he knew it was true.
It was for that reason that he found himself walking hastily through a building, ignoring the shouting of a woman, who followed closely behind him. “Excuse me, sir! You need an appointment!” Mateo didn’t even bother to turn around and pay attention to who he assumed was a secretary. He was determine to talk to her. The mother of his only child. Regardless of the many fights they had in the past, they at least owed their daughter a chance to meet both of them. At least that’s how he felt. Without much regard for Lacy, he swung open her office door and walked inside the room. “We need to talk and you shouldn’t expect me to leave until we do.” @twentysomethingbeliever
