ok so i play Bb clarinet and i kinda wanna learn to play bass clarinet but idk do you know if its an easy transition or is it something that would take a few years to catch up on?

I thought it was a super easy transition when I did it. Granted, I’d only been playing Bb for about a year when I switched, but the only thing that takes getting used to is that it’s bigger. Now when I play the Bb, it’s so terrible because my hands and mouth are conditioned to play much bigger pieces. 

I don’t know about anyone else, but I thought it was a very easy switch. 

No matter what it is you’re doing, everything takes a little bit of practice to get comfortable.
