“Just have to believe… Careful, you’ll start sounding like Deaton.” Stiles grumbled, a little frustrated with himself for not looking into that spark further. He supposed, when it came down to it, he’d been scared. After everything with the nogitsune, the thought that he may have any power at all was a terrifying one. Because power meant he wasn’t completely human. And not being completely human, to Stiles, meant that he could become evil. Become a threat again. After all, there was always that thought that he’d enjoyed all that hurt he’d caused…
Luckily, he was pulled out of his spiralling thoughts by the touch of Peter’s hands, a shaky breath slipping free of his lips. “Good… good.” He answered softly, his hands having moved to cling to Peter’s shirt with no intention of letting go until he knew for sure that he wasn’t going anywhere. Because somehow, somewhere along the line of their knowing each other, Stiles had become attached. And, well, Stiles had lost far too many people he was attached too. “I’ll make sure the others keep their mouths shut, I swear.”
Peter chuckled a bit at the Deaton comment but allowed himself this quiet moment with Stiles, the young man who had somehow become important to himself and his wolf. His instincts were telling him to leave Beacon Hills, to get away and start his own pack somewhere else. However, just the one word, stay, made him able to fight that instinct. He was going to stay for this human, this teenaged boy who was fearless and brave, and also kind and loyal. He was so weak and he was going to happily run straight into Hell for him...
The Alpha wrapped his arms around Stiles and held him as close and as tightly as possible without cracking the other’s bones. The young man was actually grounding him, becoming his anchor and it wasn’t as repulsive as he had originally thought it would be... in fact, it was rather pleasant and he would have it no other way. He then rubbed his cheek into Stiles’ cheek and neck, effectively scent-marking the teen. “I believe you, Stiles... you were never one for idle threats. I remember you throwing that Molotov cocktail at me with no hesitation. Despite it resulted me in dying, and at least I came back), I admire you for that and your loyalty to Scott.” Peter then moved so his forehead was once again pressing on Stiles’ forehead. “However... can you promise me that if I do have to leave, will you come with me?”
