@twiceborn-witchlighter: IKR???? It's like as soon as they find out Chris is their son it's... as if their previous treatment of him is completely forgotten
right?? and then i’m constantly confused as to why was leo confused as to why he hated him. as if he didn’t have enough reasons for it from his trip alone (yeah, chris was shady, but as a product of war what do you even expect, and his deal was so leo doesn’t get hurt anyway, while first thing he did when coming back is to beat chris up). there was that thing, there was constant distrust, following him around, threatening to send him back to the future, to quite literally recycle his soul. he said that, his own father, though he didn’t know at the time.
but then chris let things slip too, like even ??? in the genie episode, he told him his father wasn’t around much and all he ever got was letters. did you already forget about that or what? and everything else, like they battled chris on every step, we already talked about the phoebe thing too, even the whole like.......... calling him a neurotic little freak.
like, the writing in this season was so horrid and inconsistent. you have a boy (who at the time was legit like maybe a year, max two older than billie, whom they took in right away) who’s so clearly traumatized, who came to sacrifice everything for his evil brother who stood majorly behind his trauma, and you have one woman who has a psychology degree, the other who used to be a social worker, and then one boy who’s a walking halliwell, and what? this happens.
and the worst thing is, chris is messed up enough to probably think he deserved it, in some ways at least. i mean, his family died off when he was too young, and with leo pulling his disappearing crap (which he have done in UF well on his own, and had done so in the past willingly as well), and then his brother turned evil and terrorized everyone, so he was hardly ever subjected to something better to KNOW better.
