Twicity is a rocky planet orbiting around the same star as Alternia, and has more or less the same climatic conditions as Earth.
It’s full of all kinds of resources, and those peak the curiosity of the Condesce, Alternia’s Empress. Therefore, she decides to send a whole branch of her army on it, in order to install infrastructures and exploit its riches.
The colony easily settles on the planet, but a huge mess is brewing: a part of the colony, led by a certain General Bellan, seems to want to break away from the Empire. Uprisings erupt, an embargo is created to prevent the flow of Twicity’s resources to the rest of the empire, and in the blink of an eye, Twicity descends into chaos. Under the orders of the Condesce, who sees no point in waging war on this planet when a bunch of lifeless and probably better celestial bodies exist in the cosmos, the rest of the generals loyal to her withdraw, leaving Twicity to the rebels, left to their own devices.
The chaos is far from over, however, as tensions arise within the rebellion. One faction, led by General Bellan, advocates for the construction of a Twicetian empire, while another, composed mainly of lower-caste trolls, wants to make the planet a democratic state, ruled by the people. The pro-empire faction will prevail decisively, through the use of force, but also thanks to an argument they consider crucial: a fuchsia-blooded larva, hidden by General Bellan, which he will proclaim as the future emperor of Twicity, while simultaneously declaring himself regent.
The rebellion thus erupts, giving birth to the Twicity Empire, but also to its worst enemy: the other branch of rebels, which will call itself Aurea X-Turie. This very important split will shape the social and political landscape of the planet in a considerable way.
The future of Twicity and its new inhabitants is going to be... complicated.
