I’m @yelldayell, and welcome to this sideblog entirely focused on my fanfic called “Tales of Twicity”, based on the webcomic “Homestuck” written by Andrew Hussie.
This blog has existed for a while, but I decided to fuel it a bit more with art, lore and worldbuilding ideas! Consider this sideblog as a sort of archive of my work. I’ll post both in english as well as in french in here (si vous voulez lire ce billet en français, cliquez ici!).
And to not get lost on this blog, you’ll find a handy list of the tags after the “read more”. Some of them don't have content yet but they will soon!
Anyway, enjoy your reading!

Vous n'entendez malheureusement pas beaucoup parler de votre cher et tendre administrateur pendant un moment parce qu'il est en train de se PRÉPARER POUR ARTFIGHT!
As adults and children are constantly rubbing shoulders on Twicity, there is less distance between most trolls and their ancestors or descendants.
They sometimes live together, as in the case of Quilan and the Emperor, but this is extremely rare. Generally, young trolls live with their lusus (when they have one), and can have cordial relations with their ancestors, when the latter live on Twicity. However, this is not the case for all trolls. Intra-family disputes do occur and can be quite violent.
Many sweeps after the rebellion that gave birth to it, the Twicity Empire is ruled by three trolls.
Twisan Magnus, the Emperor: Still a larva when he arrived on the planet, he is now the supreme ruler of Twicity. This doesn't mean he rules alone, however. He has a council of ministers at his beck and call. They make the majority of political decisions. His power is therefore more symbolic than anything else.Â
The Emperor has taken a vow of silence. He only speaks in private, and only in sign language. Most of the time, people speak for him. It's hard to know what he really thinks.Â
General Drabhi Bellan, the Minister: The instigator of the rebellion. He has presided over the Ministerial Council since the Emperor was old enough to rule. He is, in truth, the center of power of Twicity. All decisions pass through him. The Twicetian Empire is his. He considers it his greatest work of art, but he is far from finished shaping it.Â
He sometimes loses himself in the occult and the study of ancient myths and legends, and is convinced that magic exists. He will do everything in his power to master it.Â
Quilan Magnus, the Heir: The Emperor's descendant. Presented to the public the day of his majority, he is a mysterious figure in Twicetian power. He doesn't seem to have any direct influence on politics. He is still far too young. In the meantime, he is receiving all the necessary education to become an exemplary ruler.
He has never left the imperial palace. The Minister forbids it. He therefore spends his time pacing in circles in his apartments, like a goldfish in its bowl. Who knows how much longer he can endure it.Â
Since Twisan only speaks in sign language, Drabhi and Quilan learned to understand it, but also speak it. Because Twisan doesn't like to be directly addressed in any other languages. He only responds when people speak to him in sign language.
To make things simple in future drawing, when there's going to be sign language, it will be french sign language. Now you know.
Twicity takes approximately 730 days to orbit its star. Therefore, one Twicetian sweep is equivalent to two Earth years. And like Earth, Twicity takes 24 hours to rotate on its axis.
Like Alternia, Twicity experiences two types of seasons: dark and bright. There are three seasons of each type, for a total of six seasons. Each season lasts six months, with approximately 60 to 61 days for each of them. They are marked by specific weather phenomena and are therefore named after them. The six seasons are as follows:Â
Plumerides: The first dark season, which marks the beginning of the Twicetian calendar. It is a rainy season. For a few months, the planet is plagued by numerous floods, and some parts of it are only accessible by boat.Â
Nymerides: The second dark season, and the one with the least sunshine. It is also the season when twicetians are most active.Â
Helimerides: The last dark season, and the most dangerous. It is marked by powerful storms, causing both material damage and personal injuries.Â
Brumerides: The first bright season, characterized by thick fogs. The Twicetians are very inactive during this time, as the persistent fog prevents them from circulating.
Lumerides: The second bright season, and the one with the most sunshine. Many religious festivities take place during this time, as the return of the sun is synonymous with spiritual renewal.Â
Frumerides: The last bright season, the hottest, and the one that marks the end of the twicetian calendar. It is during this season that agriculture produces the most yields.Â
