PLOT POINTS:
A year ago the Princess was struck down by a fever; she recovered, but her health never made a returned in full. The fever left her with nightmares from the delusions she suffered; before, she had been steadfast and a pillar of strength. Now, she jumps at the slightest shadow. The court now seems less of a celebration of royalty and riches and now more a crush of constant eyes. It feels like a constant attack on her consciousness: her heart pinches, her breathing shortens. It frustrates her to no end, though she tries her best to go back to the person she once was. She wants to be strong & vivacious again. But when all is said and done, she feels tired.
Hailing from one of the highest noble families, the Van Renesse duchy, the Wilting Bloom has always held a deep interest in the workings of the court. In the Netherlands, the court was an amalgamation of nobles and merchants; in Austria, the borderlines are strictly set between classes. She misses the familiarity of her homeland, but the art of the Austrian court has taken her breath away time and again and has helped her to forget.
The distance and attitude from her husband has angered her to no end, though she bears it quietly. But she has admitted: if she were to fall in love with another, then she would not be opposed to taking a lover to her bed.
CONNECTIONS:
The Seventh Devil: Younger sister, to which she is closest to in this world. The Bloom and the Devil; polar opposites. The fire and the flood, the lash to the blush.
The Lost: Even though their two families are bitter political rivals, she cannot help feel sorry for the young girl who was unceremoniously yanked from her home and shoved into a life that she never asked for.
The Rose without Thorn & the Pearl of Youth: The two women have become her close friends, calming the frantic panic in her with their sweet and expecting natures. While knowing that eventually she will lose their company, she has remained steadfast in her loyalty.
The Black Sheep: Her husband is a man no one can quite anticipate; however, after her illness, she feels like all she receives from him is distance, and perhaps worse, pity. The emotions in his face when he looks at her is not pride or love, but pity and stiff-backed duty. She loathes it even more than she loathes her own sickness.
