Twin Beasts - Sweet Marie

I’m a bit disturbed by how sexy I’m finding this video for Sweet Marie from Melbourne band Twin Beasts (formerly The Toot Toot Toots). Who knew that watching a slightly manic version of Robert De Niro drool over a young Cher look-alike who’s dancing around half naked, while wearing a fake moustache and goatee, could in any way be alluring, but there it is. Don’t worry, she’s wearing nipple covers. You know, for modesty. It’s not just the video that’s doing it for me, though. I’m completely captivated by everything about this humorous and somewhat twisted song about a love sick peeping tom. Firstly there’s the forceful beat that perfectly captures the frustration and desperation depicted in the lyrics. Then there’s the charisma of singer Giuliano Ferla, evidenced by every word he passionately spits out about this unattainable woman of his dreams. And to top it all off there’s an awesome psychedelic guitar solo. Really, what more could you ask for?

Sweet Marie is the second single off their forthcoming album, Badlove, due for release 24th of April.
