Twin Beech High School, pictured above, is the one with the red letters on the front of the building.
Eden’s day starts a little slower than she planned, and she’s the last to arrive in her classroom....she’s not feeling that well today. She finds a seat in the back, but later asks to be excused.
She tells the counselor that she’s not feeling well, and all of a sudden she breaks out in these horrible red spots that itch like crazy. The counselor immediately sends her home.
Itchy, and feeling like a leper...rejected at school. Eden goes inside wondering what she should do about this awful rash.
Eve: You look horrible. I’m not gonna eat your grilled cheese sandwiches, I don’t wanna catch it.
Eden: You won’t catch it by eating a sandwich, Everly..geez. And we don’t waste food. Besides, there is nothing else in the fridge to eat, ‘cept cereal and yogurt, stuff like that.
Eve: How do you know I can’t? You touched them.
Truth was, she didn’t know. Eden went into her room to eat alone. Times like these she wishes her mother was still around. After thinking hard about it, she called the number Leland left her for emergencies, and asked for Brooklyn, instead. She wanted her opinion on a natural cure. Eden can’t buy any drugs without Leland’s consent, and she didn’t want to alarm him at work because he’d surely leave early and come home.
Brooklyn advised her to take a nice hot soapy shower..’dry those little boogers up’...that should make her feel better.
So, after eating, Eden showered..and after awhile the hot soapy water truly did soothe the itch and the redness went away. She felt much better and was able to go to bed and get a good night’s rest..
