Sympathy for the devil Part 8
“Yes. You wouldn’t expect anyone to name their son that. Then again it was a name that was once worth something but is a horrible one to give now. Biblical history saw to that. But maybe one day if I try hard enough it will be name that even God himself can say with love.”
“Ok, so I got your name but what do you do?”
“I am a trader. Someone is always looking for a good deal and I make sure that I give it to them. I can make all their wildest dreams come true. Sadly dealing with me is more like dealing with the casino. The house always wins.” “I take it that business is good then?”
“More than you know my dear boy. None of this would be possible if it weren’t.”
“So why are you blowing a million rand on me?”
“Not “on you” but “with you”. Your generation really needs to learn to stop being so self-centred.” He said as he shook his head and took a sip. “Let’s just say that the minute we bumped into each other I took a liking to you. You seem like a very open minded young fellow.”
“Thank you.”
“Well when we met you showed a little bit of courtesy given the circumstance. Being a man great wealth and taste I warmed up to that. Now I can tell that you do hold a bit of sympathy for me.”
“A guy who will spend a million with a complete stranger must be a very lonely person. So I figured out some time ago that you must be in need of a friend. Seeing as I am out of car thanks to you, I figured why not be friends with the devil for a day.”
“The devil?” he said as he laughed. “It was an accident after all. You make it sound like I hit you on purpose. Anyway, enough chit-chat. This is a quick flight and I am in need of some refreshment. Nick and Nicky. Would you please join me in the back?” he got up and went to the end of the plane and opened the door. He had a bedroom back there! Nick and Nicky both got up and followed him. Nick grabbed the bottle of champagne. The disco ball spinning was another reminder of the eccentric man I had decided to follow on this journey.
“Coming Sketchy?” asked Nicky. I looked at her. The whole her. By that I mean I checked her out. Twice. She was smocking hot. She had already unbuttoned her shirt and I could see her bra. I watched her brother go into the room L was in. As hot as she was I figured that was one party I did not want to join. I swallowed hard.
“uhmm… I have had a long day and I don’t think I can make that party back there.”
“That’s a shame.” she said. She took a step towards me. She held the back of my neck gently and placed her knee on the couch to one side of me. She placed her other knee on the other side of me and sat on top of me. Then she leaned over and whispered in my ear “I want to play with you before you leave Cape Town.”. Then she licked my ear. She leaned back smiled at me then got up and went to the back with her brother and L. I was stunned. This kind of lifestyle must be that secret life of the rich and famous. The entire day was absurd.
I poured some whiskey in a glass and downed it. I put some ice and re-filled my glass. The air hostess walked up to me with a card. She held the card out to me and said “Here you go sir.”
I looked at her. I noted again how beautiful she was. She had a long black hair, big hazel eyes and a figure like a model. Her accent made me think that she was a cape coloured in origin. I took the card and looked at it.
“It’s a membership card.” She said.
