Not on our original itinerary, but we were lucky to find the hike to the Twin Arches in Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area, Tennessee. Here we are under one of the two arches. Twin Arches is an example of what geologists call differential erosion. Over hundreds of thousands of years, the softer sections of sandstone along the ridge line collapsed due to freezing and thawing, while the harder, more erosion-resistant layers remained intact. The result is two natural 100 ft tall bridges. #bigsouthfork #twinarches #tennessee #greatoutdoors #kelwinadventures #roadtrip (at Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bp-2IAsAyfq/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1k1e6a0it87bt
