hey, why do we get notified when ppl comment on other people's posts we've reblogged?

like I get being notified on people reblogging stuff you've reblogged, but I feel like we should only get notified on comments written in the comment section of our own posts or if we've been @/tted in the comment section of someone else's post.

like why should I be notified if my follower or someone simply visiting my blog is commenting on a post that isn't mine??? they're not supposed to be talking to me, they're supposed to be talking to OP!

"AI" has become such a buzzword that I wrinkle my nose at stuff I would've been perfectly fine with had it been presented as just "a program"

like "a program that picks out what chords a song is made up of" hell yeah! can't find the chords written down anywhere else so this is perfect, let's fukken go! "an AI program that picks out what chords a song is made up of" ah. *inhales through teeth* yehhh naww idk about thaaat...

like, it's stupid. there are so many programs –pretty much all of them these days– that uses some form of Artificial Intelligence, just not the generative type. but just like how every company now thinks slapping the word "AI" on all their products now is gonna sell better – which atm it does to some degree, you have creators like myself who are reflexively repelled by the word.

idk it's just such a hassle to have to scrutinize every single AI titled thing to see if it's actually made up of the thing that's creating garbage and stealing artists' jobs or is actually just a helpful tool for said artists.

would prolly help if I knew how the stuff worked better too, which would require taking the time and effort to learn it AND actually retaining that knowledge in my noggin. maybe one day...

I think the saddest experience I've had as an adult was being really sick for a longer period of time. After getting a lumbar puncture I felt like absolute shit for over a week - body hurting all over and a vomit-inducing migraine, the most comfortable state to be in was face-down-ass-up in a fetal position, so hyper aware of my own anatomy I ended up having very gory dreams about zombies - and I was mostly entirely on my own all the way through it.

last time I was bed-ridden-sick while living on my own was during a post-vaccination fever and that only lasted a day

it's been months now since post-lumbar sickness, but I still think about it, lonely it was. I did get some help, from people whose job is to help me, but nobody stuck around.

I really don't wanna live alone anymore.

Dunno about you guys but there's no bigger turnoff for me when it comes to fanfics (or any fiction in general really) than it being written in first person without any framing device to justify it

like... for example, fanfics for "The Magnus Archives" have alot of first person pov fics but it's specifically bc they're usually "statement fics" aka. written like they're transcripts of an episode of the podcast, which mainly consist of ppl giving statements of something supernatural that happened to them or someone being compelled into giving a monologue.

original fiction examples I have are stuff like "Perks of Being A Wallflower" which is written like they're letters to someone, or "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" bc.. well, it's a diary.

these makes sense to me and so I can read that an enjoy them, but if the fic is just a plain ol first person pov with nothing explaining why I'm suddenly reading someone narrating things happening in their own life in eloquent prose, it just kills all my motivation to read it. Especially when in present tense, bc it feels the least sensical for that reason but past tense still feels weird bc while it gives me a chance to make up my own framing device that's still me doing more work than I should to enjoy reading something.

I think the only way I could ever rly enjoy reading a 1st person POV fic in present tense and no framing device is if it was written as a stream of consciousness. Bc again that makes the most sense to me.

the first one I spotted before anything bad happened and I took it outside, the second one I cut in twain bc I didn't know it was there ;_;

they were cute and I'm sad to have killed one by accident, but also my skin feel all crawly now DX
