Where Are the Twinkle Eye Ponies? Basic Fun News

It’s My Little Monday with... A Text Post?? Yes! Instead of the usual photos and info, this one only has info but it’s important stuff if you’re a G1 collector looking for more ponies or to complete or improve your Twinkle Eye pony set. If you’ve been on the look out for Basic Fun’s Twinkle Eye Ponies you’d know that “August 2021″ was supposed to be their release date. Then, a while ago they said they were ‘delayed’.... But now, they seem to be answering people that they ARE coming to stores like Cracker Barrel and Meijers BUT they are calling them “Classical Rainbow Ponies” instead of what they really are, the TEs. They get the names right like SweetStuff is coming so you know it’s not the actual (either set of) Rainbow Ponies being released again...which is great...but what’s up with all the confusion? Answer: I have no idea But, there’s not enough talk about it so here it goes as a day of the week. It’s important because the TE set was problem-prone with bad cases of yellowing, centerpoint/cancer, regrind, frizz, eye scuffs, & iridescent loss. The iridescence on the eye gems was something that no one ever discovered the way to restore. People WILL be wanting these with popular show-characters like Sweet Stuff (From Sweet Stuff & the Scavenger hunt etc) as well as lovely upgrades to possibly sad condition collection ponies. As is their usual MO, they’re starting with 4 of them...so as is the usual also, we’ll need them to do well in order to get more from the sets. (Remember, TE had TWO sets worth of characters because they were so popular in the 1980s) And expensive-you-know-who won’t get made unless these first 4 are a selling smash-hit. So I’m gonna say it: DO YOU WANT TEN DOLLAR MIMIC? Then let Basic Fun know! Go clamor on their Facebook, find & pester Cracker Barrel when these release (because Meijer isn’t nation wide, and they are a grocery so they don’t ship far) So like why are they putting ponies in the grocery idk that’s weird. But most importantly let everyone who might even consider buying a twinkle pony know about these once they release because without Target on board the buying opportunity is less for everyone. Companies like when people talk about wanting their stuff & general positivity about cool new releases they’ll do. They don’t seem to advertise so spreading the word is the best way to get 10 dollar Mimic. Are they delayed or aren’t they? Everyone is the same at this point (August 17th) waiting for news or photos of the set. Of course, the minute anything happens, this Tumblr will update with excitement.
